I just came to realise one of the perks of having a permanent job. As I'm not substituting for anyone else, I don't have to accept someone else's way of doing things. I'm my job. I'm gonna organise things the way I bloody please! It'll take a while, but in the end I'll have a folder system that actually makes sense! My job in administration just became slightly less soul crushing.

hahaha you poor fool, the sound of your file-reorganization will only cover up the pain for a moment, then the futility of a never ending occupation will resume to grind what remains of your pitiful soul into dust

Can you tell I've been in an office job too long?

Is it bad to look forward to your retirement and/or death two weeks into a new job?
Legalise drugs! And murder!

That's the spirit, you seem to be adapting already

I imagine that when SE was writing the scenes inside Dragnipur, he was using some time spent in office administration as inspirational material, the similarities are astounding
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Edit: that's a comment on the photo, not what's making me happy

Oh, I am fairly aware of it. I am even enjoying it, and the GF is giving me enough sport watching/beer drinking/nerd stuff opportunities that I can stomach turning in my man-card.

Does anyone else want to tell him or should i?

go ahead, you definitely have seniority

Why bother? Married men have been telling single men the same thing for thousands of years. And married women have been telling single women how to get the single man to ignore all the advice.

So far the women seem to be ahead by a rather large margin.

This:

I was woken today by a friend letting me know to watch this.
It's fairly amusing and I think I'll watch more of this vlog ;)
If you can't be bothered watching the whole thing, skip to 5:45 to see why I am amused.
Glad it was one of the more eloquent posts :p

Also, awesome violin.

I have just finished a club sandwich fit for Zeus himself with more fries than I could eat washed down with a half pot of coffee and I feel like a champion

This is why men die younger

Pretty much moved into my new apartment. Pretty sweet get-up.

Satellite cable is going in as I type and obviously the interwebs are hooked up.

I miss my kitty, though.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Head of Iranian Majles (Congress) calling a minister "not that kissable" and asking for some taste among the congressman.
(After some of them kissed his cheeks)
And he did it while he was being broadcast live on the national TV.

Dual monitors! (No, not dueling monitors. >.>) Ah, the screen real-estate! The multi-taksing. So much win.

A strong ending to a public advisory meeting I am covering tomorrow:

Spoiler

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.
