Wow my house was just fucking shaking! I heard a helicopter coming for a few minutes so I went outside to smoke a cig and what do I wind up seeing? Not 1,2, or 3 copters but fucking 5! 5 attack copters flying no more then 200ft above the treetops, I could see all the fucking guns on them. That was really cool to see that flying formation that low, my kids were going batshit crazy seeing that. They loved it. lol

Reminds me of the evening of May 4th 1995.

I was mowing my Grandmothers lawn and I suddenly heard a loud noise. Thinking it was the lawnmower acting up again I started playing with the throttle to see if it stopped, it didn't help so I cut the throttle and I still heard the noise which was even growing louder.

When I looked up to see where it was coming from, a B-17G (the Sally-B which is based at Duxford) came thundering over, think it was flying on a height of somewhere in between 500 - 1000 meters.

Those were the days, when I was a teenager loads of Warbirds would fly over my house from time to time. Mustangs, Dakotas, B-25's and Spitfires.

It all stopped when the Americans left the airbase of Soesterberg and the airbase was closed down some years later.

Sometimes a Dakota still flies over.

Working from home as my train line is fooked. Got my phone volune turned up in case I get a call, got the laptop on sound notification if an email comes in - planning to reply promptly but not too quick in order to maintain the illusion that I am actually working. Otherwise, screw you job!!!

Today marks the first (and let's face it, probably last) time a Valentine's Day plan to woo a maid has gone absolutely right :) So yeah, that's cool.

I started working again this week, because there were finally enough orders at the company to allow me to do so. Right now, I'm sandpapering the living fuck out of a staircase. It's boring as hell, but it's a large job and it's kind of comfortable to know where to go and what to do. Seeing as the season for floor grinding (which is what we do) is coming up, I will probably have some more jobs in the near future. And I earn a decent amount of dough, $17,60 an hour to be more precise, which I think is pretty good considering I'm only a lowly apprentice (although destined for world domination and stuff like that).
Money rules the world. I rule the money.

There's a vote going on for Lay's new flavor, one of which is Chicken and Waffles.

I'd try them. Cheesy Garlic Bread and Sriracha both sound great right off the bat though.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

How can that be the greatest combination ever? There is no bacon.

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Found out (45 minutes after it started) VIA twitter that Brandon Sanderson was doing an event/signing at a library near my house....I leapt up, grabbed my copies of THE WAY OF KINGS and ELANTRIS and flew down there, waited in line for an hour and a half, and met him, got my books signed and impressed him with my hardcover first edition ELANTRIS!

Asked him when Stormlight 2 was dropping and he said TOR has it on sched for November 21st 2013.

WOOT! What a great night!

That's awesome, especially getting the Way of Kings signed.

But why ever make the poor man waste ink signing Elantris!

Haha. Just kidding. But I really couldn't feel more differently about two books. Way of Kings was one of the best books I've read. Ever. While Elantris falls far to the other side of that particular spectrum. Actually, I shouldn't even be criticizing any of his works, but I did not like it much at all. I feel ok saying that because Way of Kings just so happens to make up for any wrong doings on his part.

I am happy because Gear Acquisition Syndrome has bitten again and I've just won a bid on ebay for a rather cheap, but still groovy, guitar. It's in a bit of a state at the moment but that means I have many pleasurable hours of chiselling, routing, drilling, filling, soldering, priming, painting, polishing, tuning and general fettling to come.

That sounds like something I'd take upon myself to do, and then end up with a not-so seaworthy boat instead of a guitar.

As for what's making me happy right now: first off I managed to scrape together 38 working hours last week. Aside from the fact that it brings in money, I'm extremely tired after work and now only sleep pretty poorly, which is a massive improvement. Also, I finished The Witcher just half an hour ago, and I'm dying to start playing the second game come the morrow.
Money rules the world. I rule the money.
