Under 2 weeks after it went on the market, I just accepted an offer on my house, at the price we wanted for it!!
Moving in July!

Two things. One really bloody epic and the other just down right unexpected.
On Monday, I went to my local arena/music venue to go tout hunting for my niece. Her mother (my sister) wanted to get her a One Direction ticket for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night. However, even though she was willing to pay £100 EACH!!!!!! There was no way she'd get it in time, she also didn't want to unnecessarily excite my niece in case she didn't get one. Hence the offer of my assistance in procuring a ticket.
To cut this already too-long story shorter, I walked up to the box office and asked for 2 tickets. And she gave me them. £30 each. SOLD OUT you say? Apparently not.
So I'm one very popular uncle at the mo.
Secondly, the guy who recently fixed my guitar, rang to tell me he had found a banjo ukulele that I might be interested in.
I went along today to play/view, and its a gem alright.
It's a Hawkes and Sons (1865-1930) soprano banjo euk, and it sounds bloody gorgeous.
So I bought it for £90. Good times.
Add these good newsies to my recent spate of sweet times (new car last week,12 days off work, 5% payrise, and a reduced tax code) and this is shaping up to be best month of the year thus far.
Long may it continue.

But on the down side you had to go through the humiliation of actually buying One Direction tickets. I hope no-one saw you...

It wasn't easy handing over my 'hard' earned cash for those little squirts of piss. You do what you got to do in the name of family.

Having a nice cup of proper tea at home for the first time in a while. The place is clean and I had a nice walk. There are also cookies.

Damn. The house for sale in front of mine has been on market for almost 2 years. The one a block over for around a year. In fact, everyone I hear about that's trying to sell right now are finding it extremely difficult, and that's with a nearly 15% fall in prices. Housing is in rough shape in our region.

I went to look at a place yesterday that had been on the market for less then 2 days and already had 3 offers! Fortunately we didn't like it, too small. We found one we did like though. Trying not to get excited until it's a done deal but it has a huge garden and I want to live there right now.

With 15 apartment units, the Bio Intelligent Quotient (BIQ) House demonstrates a cost-effective way of producing environmentally-friendly, sustainable architecture. It is one of many projects currently being showcased at the International Building Exhibition.
The BIQ House took around three years to build, with design and construction costs of €5 million ($6.5 million). It features "bio-reactors" in the facade which contain microalgae. These live in a water solution, with nutrients and carbon dioxide provided by an automated system. Each of the 129 tanks can be rotated towards the Sun, generating biomass that can either cool or heat the building, while serving as a renewable energy source.
