Lots of stuff from their new album Elysium, and some old favourites in new arrangements. The set list was:
Tonight Is Forever
This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave
Can You Forgive Her?
Memory Of The Future
Miracles
Leaving
It Couldn't Happen Here
Breathing Space
New York City Boy
The Survivors
He Dreamed Of Machines
Requiem In Denim And Leopardskin
West End Girls
Hold On
And Johnny Marr was guest guitarist
He Dreamed Of Machines was epic -- part of a much larger work celebrating Alan Turing, about whom Neil gave a speech before the piece. The entire concert can be heard on Radio 2 tonight at 8, or on iPlayer later for those in the UK.

It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

It's mah birthday!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Saw Perks of Being A Wallflower today, which wasn't the hipster teen garbage I thought it was going to be. Pretty good.
And then I headed down to a friend's pole-dancing Christmas event in Richmond. Dozens of fit young women gyrating on poles...well worth the gold coin donation for entry
And I won a pink fluffy stubby holder due to my efforts in getting up, trying to climb a pole and actually not making a TOTAL ass of myself

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Checked my syllabus
The paper I thought had to be e-mailed to prof by 4 PM is just "due Friday"
This gives me 8 potential extra hours to actually get it done somewhat proper. Maybe even nap an hour after my morning exam (I was up all night researching/drafting/studying)

The book is hispter garbage of the highest caliber...but you're right the film is VERY good, and I think it's Emma Watson and Logan Lerman who elevate the source material into something far better.

my prof likes reading footnotes. I`m somewhat sleep-deprived, writing a 25-pager that must be submitted at some point today.
going off on tangential semi-rants in footnotes (with sparse use of extra references) is fun!

so. Many. Words.
But my paper is done. Only 2 more finals left.
I have established it takes me about 42 hours of focused work to produce a 6-7 k word research paper from scratch. that's about 250 words an hour. I'm somewhat impressed with myself.
