I needed to get that out. It's been a long two weeks, but it's gone about as well as it possibly could. When EMTs, doctors, and nurses are stopping by to see somebody and telling you they didn't think he'd make it; well, gratitude and relief doesn't describe the emotion.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I don't blame you, that's a really awful thing to have to go through for all of you. I hope your dad is fully recovered soon :)

this article about galaxy formation- fascinating! and in particular this paragraph below:

So glad to hear your dad is on the mend, HD, that must have been a really tough time for you!

And yay, Centz! Hope work is getting a bit nicer for you now!

Making me happy: My co-worker (a lovely middle-aged Samoan lady) just informed me that she didn't know the meaning of the word "fap". And then proceeded to google it. At work.

It's the little things in life :)

Happy to hear your dad's on the mend, HD!

Making me happy: my two best friends in the world got engaged! :) I always knew it would happen because they're "that couple" who are perfect together but I assumed the groom-to-be would wait until they were done with school. Now there's a bachelor party to plan and I've been asked to be one of the groomsmen!

Got my computer back. Yep, after all the hooplah, getting offered a replacement, they decided just to fix it.

Ah well, it may have taken 6 weeks but they did fix my computer for something my warranty didn't cover :)

My gf is at a hen's night tonight, the drunk texts I'm receiving are gold.

In other news, I just got home from work to find Goldeneye on telly. So much win. Also Borderlands 2. :)

Watching 'Nuclear Meltdown' on the telly. It's looking at the how and why of the Japanese nuclear reactor explosion. Some really thought-provoking questions.

Now watching a doco on British Petroleum.

Evil Empire, much? XD

I love docos :) The obvious agendas/biases are great!
