Flipping heck. For all the moaning I have done, that was one OUTSTANDING opening ceremony! Mind blowing, funny, passionate, moving... Proud to be British right now, and suck it Mitt Romney! Actually stunned by how amazing that was all round...

Agreed, surprisingly.

had expected it to be cringeworthy, glad it wasn't.

Both the Rowan Atkinson Mr. Bean bit and the James Bond bit were totally Ace!

I'm REALLY impressed with the quality of the ceremonies, and the fact that's it's been less about "things" and more about "people". I wasn't expecting that.

Well done London. Well done indeed!

Now who wants to mail me some Jammie Dodgers? :)

GO USA!! 529 athletes this summer Olympics.

A huge number! Plus you have the fact that it's not the Winter Olympics so us Canadian's do more poorly. :)

Good luck to all countries.

The emphasis on the individual achievements was really nice.

However, it did pale in pure spectacle to Beijing 2008.

Best cauldron lighting though. Beats even the arrow to cauldron of Barcelona.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Last games in Beijing I think the top 5 (IIRC) was China, USA, Russia, GB, Aus... Might have got a couple mixed up & haven't bothered to check it out... :) Also, really like the fact that this is the first time ever that there is a woman representing every country there!

I'm going to brag...Ofcourse we are awesome! Lol the golds will tell. I don't remember but I think we had the most in the 2010 Winter Games?

You mean in comparison to others? Cause Canada shellacked everyone's ass in the Winter Olympics Golds.

Yep your right Can1 Germany2 USA and Norway tied for 3.
So Im obviously just remembering an early stat showing.

No worries, it's our element Winter Sports.

Plus we usually suck harder for Summer and you guys do better...I think it took a full week in Beijing for Canada to medal at all...

They should have a Spring and Autumn Olympics so there's one every year.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It took 8 days, at least according to the talking heads on CTV. :) Although I actually prefer to watch the summer Olympics I couldn't help but be really, really proud of the Canadian team in Vancouver...winning big at home and all that.

Anyway! I am also happy because I spent a lovely day at a spa with a good friend of mine. We did this water circuit and then went out to eat and I am so very relaxed right now that my building could catch fire and I'd probably just grin at it.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.
