Oh my gods, a number of titles have been released for this year's TIFF and they are all impressive! Rian Johnson's LOOPER, Neil Jordan's BYZANTIUM, Tom Tykwer & Wachowski Bro's CLOUD ATLAS, Joe Wright's ANNA KARENINA, JANE MANSFIELD'S CAR, Hideki Takeuchi's THERMAE ROMAE, Terrence Malick's TO THE WONDER, Stephen Fung's TAI CHI O.

Fuck me. This year's Film Fest is already going to rule and this isn't even a THIRD of the final list!

Also making me happy. Lisa Henson (and therefore Jim Henson Co.) have told Chick-Fil-A they want nothing further to do with them because of the fast food chains' recent bigoted, anti-gay stance on same sex marriage...Oh and the mayor of Boston has also told the company in no uncertain terms they are not welcome in Boston and he would make it VERY hard for them to get the licensing to open a location there.

Add that to the backlash that the Boy Scouts of America is receiving about their bigoted, anti-gay stance as well...

...Put it this way. I truly hope that this is a sign that more and more youth are recognizing equal rights and displacing traditionalist, asshat dinosaurs who are against humans being happily married, regardless of gender.

;)

Home to see my parents for the first time in two years. Feels good. Got a voicemail offering me a job while I was on the plane. ALso nice. Tonight my mom is making me my favorite meal, bacon wrapped venison tenderloin with fried rice. It's going to be good.

Yeppers. Apparently they work on radio frequency and some faulty ones will light up if that frequency is hit near them. Which is super cool.

This:

Christian Bale has visited the Aurora Memorial and also visited with a number of survivors at the hospital.

I know it's not much, and he's simply an actor, but it must mean a lot to the surviving victims.

Haha. Mine has lit up twice since. Kept looking around for Chris Martin.

Seriously, along with the stone roses, I think I've seem the best two gigs of my life this year.

I suppose that's making me happy right now. ;)

Getting quite a few offers for acting work, including one tomorrow. One that, if all goes well, might end in becoming regular, PAID work.

Fingers crossed, lads and lasses.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Because of my new job, and the initial dayshift/training stint that this entails, I can now do a Wing Chun class on Thursday evenings as well as on Sunday mornings.
I took that class tonight and it was excellent. Some real breakthroughs for me. I was wired to fuck afterwards.
Wicked.

Looking forward to doubling up my Kung fu while this shitty 'just get used to the way things work here' routine plays out.
