Friday night. Mobile phone turned off. Ottakringer waiting for me in the fridge. Heaven.
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Healthcare reform. She was conversing with someone on facebook about it, and the fact that she's in healthcare was mentioned. Some guy she doesn't know chimed in and called her naive, then snidely asked what aspect of healthcare she was in, implying that he expected her to say something like "I mop floors at the clinic" He then proceeded to bust out the "I'm a pharmacist, so I understand every aspect of our healthcare system" on her. His following argument was that poor people would be able to afford healthcare if they didn't buy so many HD tvs. She had to set him straight. It was glorious.

Well, most poor people have medicaid. And to be honest, I'd rather spend money on a TV than an ER visit.

HD TV - $800
7 stitches at a US ER - $1500

Just had a job interview! I think it went quite well and the interviewer seemed happy with my answers. Call-backs start on Tuesday apparently so here's hoping!

My gf came over last night. We were both pretty tired from working all week so we decided to be lazy and watch movies all day. I asked her what she wanted to watch and she said"Well, i saw Die Hard 3 on tv the other day, can we watch Die Hard 1,2 and 4. I almost cried.

Yeah, she's awesome.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

When a man lies he murders
Some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which
Men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear
To witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation

Pakistan won the T20 cricket world cup and the entire country just went bonkers - streets just full of dancing people. Its an awesome feeling - after years of miserable news people can just all get together and celebrate something deleriously and unreservedly. The last few years its been all earthquake, flood, suicide bombings, war, economic meltdown, etc. so even though this is just one stupid cricket match it means a lot.

Basking in the glow...

Similar to mine... Taken from the Twilight thread. :p

JOY OF ALL JOYS!!!! The following conversation actually happened...

My girlfriend and I wanted to watch a movie so we were browsing iTunes looking for downloads
"Twilight" she said "What is Twilight?" She was being serious. I had to be careful with this, as it could go either way. I cleared my throat, drew a deep breath and began.
"It's based on a book by a mormon woman from America" I began, neutrally. "It's a so called 'vampire romance'..."
"That sounds a bit rubbish..." She said.
"Yes!" I said, pouncing upon that. "And they are vegetarian vampires, and they don't burn up in sunlight, just... sparkle... It is fairly universally derided by anyone with taste, and the fans are mostly rabid girls who think it represents true romance, and thus wish that their lives are like that of the characters in the story..."
"No way! We're not watching that!" She said.

Pre-emptive attack wins. I don't know how she hadn't heard of it, but she isn't a big film person I guess... I am saved any "You should be more like Edward" or whatever...
In your face, everyone who has that! :p

Makes you wonder if they'll ever play cricket there again, though... Boom Boom Afridi!

Nothing is making me happy. Apart from my housemate gonna come home soon. She's nice to look at :gaes-orfantal:
