When it first came out I wasn't sure it would be a good movie given the cast but it is actually really solid. I love a good submarine movie.

I beat my old bowling high score of 116 with a vastly superior 122. I'm on my way to shouting "Who do you think you are?? I am!"

Also I ordered the GoT box set too! It's like half price on Amazon for some reason, and HBO sets are usually way overpriced, so I couldn't resist.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

My little (eldest) boy decided to show the world exactly what me and his mother have been banging on about for about a year now. I found this out whilst dropping him off on Wednesday morning of last week. 
He took a book (a book we don't have in the house)  from the shelves in nursery and proceeded to read it out loud to the rest of the class. 
Who, upon hearing the story being read out loud, stopped what they were doing and listened intently to my boy as he read aloud what he seen on the pages. I was told by one of the staff that it was somewhat eerie and completely unprecedented in a class of that age group. All the kids all shout his name now, and when I drop him in the morning, they all tell him they liked the story he read. How cute?!? 

Now of course, this was, while being one of the proudest moments of my life thus far, didn't shock me as much as it should've. Like I said, this just vindicated what we'd been saying for months and months. 

My 3 and a half year old son can READ. Properly. On sight. From books he's never seen before. 
He's been doing this since he was 2 and a half and he's getting better every week. He reads Oxford level 5-6, which my mates son, who's 5 is only starting to read now. 

It's nice to have this witnessed by someone else, especially a teaching professional  as its easy to sound like one of those parents who constantly boasts about their offspring, and while I have told people before, the significance is lost on most of them. 
The last nursery he was at told us,
"We've never had anyone like Ben before.."
And they never seen him read!!!

A deadly sin it maybe, but the holy trinity can go bugger itself because I am absolutely BURSTING with pride for my little man.

Keeping in line with my usual 'little things are nice, too', two things are making me happy.. First, I got a new earring, one I've been ogling for a while (they're not cheap, damn it) and second, just fetched my favurite boots from the shoe repairshop and yay, they seem to be fine again, no need to buy new ones for another year or two :p
