"No-one could possibly drink that fast...could they?"
"They sped up their drinking in the studio!"

The way NZ Election 2011 turned out. Sadly not a perfect result for the country, but the expected one, probably the best possible one.

On the flipside, apparently the majority of people who voted still desire to keep our insane system, MMP, instead of looking to change it. Very disappointing, but I guess this is the result of the way things were set up for the referendum. Next time, perhaps.

Moreover, what part of FPP, SM, STV, or the other system implies two-party state by default? Moreover, those SHOULD NOT be the only options on the table. The point is that if we can look at change, we should have a proper look - the referendum was set up wrong, sure, but that doesn't preclude anything.

I take it your'e one of those people who frames the referendum in terms of FPP vs MMP? Because if so, you're doing that purely out of a head-in-the-sand mentality regards MMP. Because you apparently like 1% of the population's representatives dictating to 99% of the population? UNDEMOCRATIC. BROKEN. WRONG. How can you not see that, KL? XD
