@Sombra - I've decided not to - I've got a cold and knowing my luck it'll turn into a chest infection if I spend the night outside.
... but
what a chest infection it would be.
Seriously, that sounds fair enough, it really does get quite nippy in those stands.
And if it rains ... uuuugggh. People who have seats in the parts that are getting soaked refuse to go back to their seats and just crowd the landings of the vomitories (yes, that's what they're called - the tunnels out of the stands) and give you very drunken attitude when you try to get them to move on because it's a safety risk.
The highlight of my State of Origin experience was watching NSW win while I was ushering level with the halfway line, halfway up the stand - best spot in the house and I got paid for it, while watching thousands of Queenslanders get soaked and depressed, resenting me cheering NSW but not being able to do a goddamn thing about it because I had the cops standing next to me ... who by a weird coincidence were also NSW supporters.
As you know, sadly, this was a fair while ago. Stupid QLD streak of series wins.
