Good news, everyone! Seems like my uncle, who got his "death sentence" a week ago, might maybe possibly make it after all! It seems as if the doctors have decided to try to shrink the tumors with chemo and then remove them when they've reached operable size. I'm optimistic as he did seem in quite good shape when we visited....now we just gotta wait and see what happens..

So thanks for all the prayers/ sacrificed chickens/goats/virgins! I'm sure that's what did it :)

That's excellent news! If he pulls through, then we Malazites are fricking miracle workers.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

America's Cutest Cat is on Animal Planet.

Honestly, at this point if Lolcats took over TV full time I wouldn't bat an eyelid.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Congrats, Grim! Hope everything goes well.

my hangover's gone, and it's only 5 PM. This evening may end up being semi-productive yet.

Thanks! So do I :)

What's good are some friends posting on my Facebook. I know, it's tiny and trivial but some of them are people I usually don't hear from. So it's kind of nice.

THank gods for "Made in Ukraine".

I have conditioned myself to associate their pulsing turbo-techno beat to working super-productively. should be done the exam study outline in less than an hour.
it's days (and esp nights) like these I love my psych degree.

Been fiddling with my UI all day - Rocketdock, Rainmeter, UXStyles, a billion desktops on shuffle, and have had to do nothing of any real value whatsoever.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

How is it? From what I've read it's either the best AC game to date or a glorified expansion pack that's just more of the same (although not sure how that's a bad thing).

I'm really enjoying it though it's clearly not a "new" game because its the same characters/setting etc. It's more like AC 2.5 rather than anything else. If, like me, you love the franchise, you will love this game.
