I have a shiny new 25" LCD monitor in 16x9 ratio, and I have no idea how to take advantage of that.
I've already got the porn pretty well taken care of, but this screws with my gaming that doesn't support 16x9.

I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

In a somewhat related note, the song randomly chosen for my alarm this morning was 'Don't Wake Up'...my iPod is so wise. Like a miniature Buddha covered in chrome.

It may have taken years to download, but I love Opera 10.50 with Glass skin. It's so shiny

Met this totally awesome girl today. Funny, clever, and in my course to boot. Quite cute as well.
Also, was in the uni bookshop today and saw the 10th anniversary GotM edition and DoD in the recommended books section. I was understandably impressed. Although all the Twilight books were above it, which almost ruined it for me.
Oh, and I noticed on the cover of Law of Nines: 'a stunningly original thriller from the #1 Bestseller.' I LOL'd.

You have to do something about this when you see it. Burn the Twilight, burn it!

I'm gonna make Dag a bit jealous now, I just had a conversation in the papershop with Arthur Bostrom who played Officer Crabtree in the dubiously racist Brit sit com Allo Allo.
I resisted the urge to ask him if he lived locally or was just pissing by.

I just realized that there's a movie adaptation of Startide Rising by David Brin (I think, IMDB won't give me any more information because I'm not a subscriber) in the works for 2012.
I am so excited. It is one of my favorite books ever. SO EXCITED

In further developments to the above post, I have spoken to the venue of the gig (initially to find out if they had a car park nearby cos google maps was being stupid) and he told me the band will likely hang out with fans backstage. Having met them once, I know these guys are really cool and chilled, it will be awesome to meet them again! Maybe get them to sign Themata for me.

This is such a girly thing to say but I'm happy because I got a nice new pair of shoes on double sale! Not only were they 50% off the regular price but then there was an additional 15% off the sale price. Ok, they aren't the Christian Louboutins that I've been fantasizing over for the past few months but hey, new shoes are new shoes and that always makes me happy.
