That's great news. Glad to hear it!

At this time tomorrow I'll be in Mexico.
Have not had a trip since before COVID hit, so I hope it's a good one.

Any amount of "getting away" is always helpful for the spirit I find. Enjoy!

Amen.
It’s supposed to rain the whole two days so we switched to a cabin. I told my friends, I don’t care if we stay at the Holiday Inn by the airport, we’re getting away for two days.

Of course 'affordable' is relative... obviously we'll have reached true equity when literally everyone has free access to mind-controlled killer robots. Take that gun nuts! We need a new amendment!

Musically, things are pretty good right now.
Balgurra DESTROYED Record Junkee last night, Ephemera have said they'd like to gig with us again and the promoter for the gig wants us back in about a month's time for a gig with Total Recall and Depravity, then we're in the recording studio mid-April to track drums for our album. The photoshoot yesterday went really good as well!
Aubzagl are playing Leeds Fenton on the 1st April as well, so I'll need to get my blasts ready for that.

I'm back into dating and on an app. It's kind of a relief to know that among the failed connections that are just part of doing this, that there's some really cool people who think I'm also interesting, worth putting effort into, and attractive.
There's one I'm very very far down inside super excited about, but part of dating intentionally is seeing this for what stage we're at rather than writing that story out ahead of time and pretending reality is matching that story.
I'm going slow in terms of hopes and learning from my mistakes or failed connections. I'm having fun,
and it's been like getting back into shape regarding reading people in a dating sense - what's sparking connection and what's not. The first few overnights were quite ok.

Daughter had a proper panic attack while I was working.
She was resting besides me and must have had a bad dream. She jumped up, eyes wide and hyperventilating. Her panic disappeared as soon as I touched her shoulder and told her 'you're ok, it's just a dream.' she held my hand and within a minute was back to sleep. That made me very happy. I recall my own dad doing that for me a zillion years ago. It felt good to pass on the sense of security my dad used to give me.

So I went with my gut, industry, and friend advice, and took the management job. I think I’m really going to enjoy this group, and I’m excited about the things I’m going to get to do with this company!

Following a lull in potential stuff coming to her from the education agencies (unsuitable due to distance), wife has an interview at Tesco tomorrow, and possibly some other stuff to look at as well.
Hopefully she gets the job, even if it's just for a bit. Anything to tide us over.

Sorted a new car today - 2014 Auris. My raise is for the moment going to be eaten by the finance, BUT we're gonna be mobile again!
Also just wanna say thanks to everyone who reached out here, even if I took no offers of help up (prideful asshole from Yorkshire that I am) - it seems like things are on a good trajectory right now so here's hoping for better times ahead.

So I'm a bit nervous about this but I've self published a small collection of short stories on Kindle... I'm quite happy about it because it represents me actually getting on with writing and makes me think that I might actually sort out my novel at some point.
Anyway if anyone wants to buy it, share it, review it, I would be so grateful - it's called Light Tomes: An Anthology https://amzn.eu/d/ce70Lkq
It's only £1.77 in the UK, which is the cheapest I can make it without Amazon rinsing me with a more punishing royalty tariff haha
