Our watter is proper 'ard, mate.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

This genuinely just caused a rather loud chorus of "Let's 'ave a proper brew!" around my typically Yorkshire office Posted Image

I've been to the second interview for a job, and tomorrow I'm going to the second interview for another job. Both seem pretty exciting, though the case I'm working on for tomorrow is really fun, and if that's the sort of work I'll be doing for them I'm very excited. Still, it's stressfull and it helps not at all that work has been more than a little crazy the last couple of weeks.

Snagged a ticket for one of two live shows my favourite - like, favourite of favourites - band will do next year in Germany. And it's not just in Germany, it's just half an hour away. Can't believe my stupid luck, though to be fair, my area does have a sizable Russian-speaking population. It's been almost a decade since they played here and I never managed to go before and was prepared to give up on trying to ever see them live. Sooooo excited :dancer:

Thanks you guys!

Interviews are exhausting and thrilling and frustrating. I can't help but look back and analyze my own performance. Fingers crossed.

My boss told me one of the prospective employers called him for a reference. So we got to talking about what they could offer me for me to stay. It was a very productive conversation, both in regards to salary, and in effectuating some improvements I've wanted to get done for some time. If the interviews don't pan out, or if the offers I receive aren't to my liking, it looks like I'm still getting some benefit from this. A true win win situation! It is gratifying to know that I am valued by my current employer too.

... what does that feel like?

Besides 'gratifying'?

I will only warn you that whoever is playing Christine will change it up from Brightman's iconic performance from the original run. I've seen it a bunch of times since the 90's and every single Christine put her own "spin" on the songs, sometimes this goes over fine and sometimes it was bothersome. Mostly because I'd listened to the original cast recording so much that Brightman's exacting performance is indelible on my brain, so even little musical hitches and changes make me wince.

Oh, and “Notes/Twisted Every Way” can sound like a mental asylum live if not performed exactly as it should be. I've seen it done well and poorly.

Otherwise you're in for a treat, especially if the set direction is solid!
