Saw two of my favourite bands in Manchester on Tuesday night. Sick gig.

Incidentally, went to Cloudwater Unit 9 bar and a few of them were over there when I popped in.

Lots of police about, turned out that Tories were around and then City were playing (which I assumed from Picadilly's state was actually some sort of anarchist riot about to erupt).

My mix at work went from Metallica to Jerry Jeff Walker to Frank Sinatra to NWA. Plumbers working with me asked what the hell we were listening to?

We’re listening to My Kick Ass Mix Volume 1 Motha Fucka!!!

Completely random, but the next song was More Human Than The Human by White Zombie. I grew up in the day when you bought a cd from Walmart the F bombs were slurred out. I listened to that cd so much back in high school I still expect the slur when he says mother fucker.

Blackface is when you paint your face to look like a black person, not when you paint your face to look like the I Like Turtles kid.

Managed to get out of a full day of Statistics training tomorrow. My boss didn't book enough spaces so I gallantly bowed out so she could go instead. Bullet dodged.

Though now you will be forever stuck in the mental quagmire of not knowing how statistically likely it was that you got this lucky break.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Back from my b-day party that was scheduled 3 days after my actual birthday. Quite drunk, cuz I was fed many Tequiola shots, so I'm feeling reflective.

A bunch of people couldn't make it or cancelled last minute, so a bunch of ppl I'd have loved to se it weren't there. Still it was a t a pool hall, and I do enjoy playing pool,. so overall it was a decent time (even if I WAS half dead from doing renovations/cleaning for 2 days straight),

I think i'm supposed to feel older or some crap like that. Yet I don't, really. is there something wrong with me? it's not a Peter Pan-esque "refusal to grow up"; more of just "I don't really feel like wanting to taking on any additional responsibilities at the time". And a relationship feels like a responsibility first and foremost.

My dad's miserable about this. Last time we talked he obliquely mentioned that my 2 cousins found their wives via online dating apps, and should I try smth similar; and yet, I don't feel any less self reliant; and if I don't feel I need someone else in my life, it feels inherently selfish to start looking just cuz "society expects me to".
So I suppose my parents would have to deal with some more disappointment.

I feel you, Ment.

I'm 38 ... I think? ... Don't have a girlfriend, don't have kids, no intention of looking for companionship. My family looks at me weird but I'm perfectly happy living a life where I have no commitments or responsibilities besides paying my utility bills and feeding my cat. I don't really consider myself asocial, I just don't really need affection or companionship.

I am an island!

I love this attitude ! I have really embraced this myself.. sure a girl would be great , but at this stage she has to be the *right* girl ...this is hard as I’m picky as hell now..I guess I’m looking, but completely happy all by myself and love myself too.. took me a long time to figure this out though.

Following my economic goals too I can retire pretty damn early if I don’t fall into any (addiction) traps that are always life pitfalls for anyone really if your honest with yourself. It can happen to anyone.

One of my better decision in my life is toning down my drinking , it takes a lot at first especially the teasing you get from your buds... then nobody cares.

To replace this I have gotten into 2x day workouts , board gaming days, and black smithing/crafts.

Sidebar: the hardest thing with this lifestyle is my friends wives.. they have the hardest time with some of the above decisions. They can apply the right buttons to question if I should be “trying” harder.

I didn’t post this weekend but landed San Diego Comic Con tickets this weekend , so prebought the fallout boy/Weezer/Green Day concert that should be a huge concert due to landing right next door to the con.

I’m cosplaying this year as Spike Spiegel , an imperial Star Wars pilot and a 1ish Star character from kill la kill.
