A new skytrain line opened. The nearest station is within 8 minutes of my door.
half an hour to downtown! yaaaaay clubbing here I come.
(I kid, I will still be a hermit. it's nice to have an option though)

These pictures don't do justice to just how incredibly neon orange the sky is right now!

Went to chek my soccer bag from Thur night- my other runner was there. made me happy.
Also, even though i'm basically one-handed now, finished the slide show of our September Euro vacation. Originally I was supposed to do this for work (both my bosses love Italy), but it kept getting put off. Then my mom decided to have people over, and asked me to do it for them.
I managed to finish picking thephotos right before I went to that fateful Thur game, lol. But still had to finish arranging them. which I did now.
I honestly find it hard to believe I'm supposed to get deconditioned, carrying this heavy as F piece of plaster around. I mean, I get occasional pain lifting the arm, and when I rest it on the table I tend to use my other arm to move it, towards the mouse or keyboard, but I expected much worse

I have been trying to find an age appropriate way to introduce my son to the Cthulhu Mythos since he was born and I think I may have found it!
It was a Kickstarter some time back and I haven't been able to locate a copy of the book but there was an article about it that I read that linked to the free pdf download (it was an interview with one of the creators so I assume the free pdf is approved).

Getting more proficient at eating left-handed
At this point only 2 tings I can't really do are
1) most cleaning (including dishes), b/c can't get cast wet
2) shaving- because that's one thing I have no faith I can coordinate well-enough- not only is it my left hand, its also a mirror image- that feels like too much for my poor brain.
there's also showering, but there I just need helping wrapping the cast up in plastic. we have a detachable shower-head, so I can actually wash without water ever hitting the R. arm.
still, hopeful that by end of the week i"ll be in smth less bulky and in rehab.

Big victory for the NoDAPL protesters. Not necessarily the final chapter, but a great step in the right direction nonetheless: https://www.army.mil...peline_crossing
Pretty big relief, and a testament to the power of protest.

Ment, I think the Universe is trying to tell you to stop playing soccer. Just a thought.

Got to the bus stop this morning to realize I lost one of my gloves.
Get off at the subway station, start walking towards it... and I see the glove lying on the ground, in the exact same spot it must have fallen out of my pocket yesterday morning.
Good start to the day.

I started watching Voltron but then I got a message to say Alex Bledsoe had posted an Eddie LaCrosse short story, which I read, and now I can't decide whether I want to watch Voltron or read Bledsoe (#firstworldgeekproblems), so I am doing both...at the same time.

Need to take it easy and use the sling for 2 weeks, until I can start physio, but otherwise its as good as could be expected

I'm going out tonight with the women I met at antenatal class. None of us have been OUT out much in the last 18months. It's either going to be dull or absolute carnage.
