That's a truly old school style. I think my Grandad used something like that.
Are those the sort you put an actual razor blade into with a guard over the top? As opposed to the conventional multiple microblades styles I use and linked to?
But hey, if it works for you - cool.
Ugh, that reminds me - work tomorrow, got to shave in the morning. Monday shaves are always good, Tuesday to Friday not so much. I wish I could shave when I wanted to because that would be every 3 days for that lovely soft smooth finish. Babies bums are rough by comparison.
EDIT: I think yours is actually called a 'double edge razor'. Huh, I've learned more about razors in the last 20 minutes than the previous 25 years of regular shaving. There you go.
Yeah the one I use is a double edged safety razor. Somewhat funnily, I distinctly remember my grandfather using this style too.
Shaving with the double edge takes a little bit longer and needs more care/experience. If you perfect it though, it's a closer shave than the multiple blade ones and is far far gentler on the skin. I could never shave everyday with the 5/6 blade razors because they made my face bleed. I can use these everyday if I want to.
I have kept using this razor mostly because using it is fun though. Nothing beats fun.
