Sorry to have to say this to everyone with kids but my baby is totally more awesome than yours :p

Did something like 4 days in hospital, I think we've been home for 2. Time has no meaning any more. Birth was exactly how i didn't want! Bullied into induction, complications, emergency c-section (performed by a doc who 36hrs previous had talked me out of the elective c-section I asked for!) but all alright in the end. He was 9lb 13oz / 4.4 kilos.

Yay for c sections! And for little pigdog, congratulations. Hope it wasn't too traumatic, and yes your baby will totally be better than everyone else's - welcome to parenthood!

You have obviously never seen one

A c section?

I work in an obstetric theatre for much of the time.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I stand corrected. When I saw them, they were brutish and I was surprised the woman came out with few complications. Maybe it was just the institution I was at.

Making me happy: just killed the last joint accounts with my ex.

Ah that's ok. It's just that when you see a fourth degree tear as a result of a big baby and all the complications it brings, compared to a c section under a spinal anaesthetic, I really know what I'd prefer. Plus my wife had a normal delivery first time, and a section second.

The first left her uncomfortable for weeks and weeks - the section healed in days and the scar is hardly visible, was easy to care for and heal.

Depends on the person though, there can be problems either way.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Double post I know. Accounts can't be closed yet, but that is because a sizable loan payment that is not mine went through. After thinking it was mine and then seeing it was hers, me = smug.

So I got a call today about a job in the UK.
It's a much coveted weekend nightshift job, that would allow to meet my school dad obligations through the week, whilst maintaining a decent career.
It's with another F1 team.
You might say THE F1 team.

The situ is fraught with problems, not least of all the fact that the interviews take place in the Uk, and I'm in Italy.
There's also the fact that I fly out to Spain on my family holiday this coming Tuesday.
So it's not been made easy for me.

However, the official closing date is still 2 days away, so for them to have contacted me so quick is promising right?

I'd give this job up on the strength of an interview alone, but not the holiday.
So it's really bad timing (as usual!), but I'm hoping that there's a work around.
I've requested a Skype interview, which isn't unheard of, but wether or not they will acquiesce remains to be seen. I'm waiting for an email. It may well be the case that they'll want to meet me after an online meeting anyway.
Who knows.

I'm bloody excited and totally anxious at the same time.

Wish me luck people.

Best of luck, Solid! We do Skype interviews at our work place all the time, so I don't think it will be that much of an issue anymore in this day and age.

And congrats Mezla!
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Congrats Mez! The next while will be nothing but a haze of feedings, changings, crying, tar like poo, and lack of sleep. Enjoy!

Good luck SS! Hope it works out.

Thanks for all the well wishes folks. He's still awesome! Still in the super sleepy newborn phase so he's deceptively easy for now. I'm healing ok except it feels like my guts will fall out when I laugh too hard and it's hard to contain the laughs when he projectile poops on Mr PigDogs change!

Amen to that!

I always wanted a natural birth but the big-headed 6kg+ (and that's without GD!) bohemoth had other plans. C-section turned out to be awesome (for me. Although the epidural and I didn't get along very well) since I was out of hospital 24 hours later and fully mobile (well, bending was a little uncomfortable). I totally expected to be on the couch for a few days at least, too sore to move, based on what I knew of other people's labour/post-labour pain but it wasn't needed.

Congratulations Mez! Parenthood is hilarious! You'll love it!

Got me a face to face interview to attend.
Done a fairly informal pre-interview kind of thing yesterday and got a mail back this morning saying they'd be happy to have me in when I get back from my holiday.
So I fly out Tuesday for 2 weeks of my 2 boys and my girl in the sun (fir the record it's probably going to be colder in Salou than it is here in Faenza!), then fly back to an interview that could potentially blow all my previous jobs away.
Sitting in a pizzeria waiting on gluten free pizza and chips for my freak-of-nature-celiac-ass, which is something worth celebrating in itself, feeling pretty darn good.

All things considered of course.

I'm homeless!!

meaning the neighbor made an offer 5% above asking price. And the contract says they're getting a loan at 4% so I countered with an offer of 3.8% for me to rent them the money.
