'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'

Okay, I feel elated right now. Only last week I was worrying about my work contract ending in April and the lack of decent prospects for another position and today I've been offered a job to do research for a year and (hopefully/probably) publish (at the least) a paper on it.

Our cat is back at home, on pills for what we think/hope is asthma, eating heartily and seemingly in better spirits than she was days ago. No coughing/heaving fits so far either (which had become frequent over the last few weeks). We are to report how she is to the Vet in two weeks time, but so far so good.
We lavished her with attention last night and she curled up at my wife's feet for most of the evening. I hugged her and got a bit emotional. I'm glad she's okay. Thanks for the support from you all.

After a very very long time, I finally got a chance to just sit back and listen to music at full volume, without worrying about anything.

Just a heads up fellow star geeks the 5 visible planets Mercury,Venus,Mars,Jupiter, and Saturn are in line convergence and can be seen about an hr before sunrise. This hasn't happened in 10 yrs so if you get a chance check it out. Also comet Catalina is still in sky and can be viewed with binoculars. It's just to the left of the Big Dipper and is a fuzzy green dot with X 50 ones. Go look for it cause it's never coming back around and is on its way out the system.

I looked at Catalina. It was a town-sized frozen ball of odd skulls.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

The toddler and I were just chasing each other around the kitchen table when he got caught up looking at something on the TV. So I took the opportunity to slip into one of the bedrooms next to the family room and hide behind the door. Cue "Where's Daddy?" and the sound of little feet running up and down the hall as he's looking in all the rooms (even the ensuite and main bathroom).
As he was looking in the main bathroom opposite the bedroom where I was, I stepped out into the hallway and as he turned around ...
"Raaaaaaaahhhhhhh!" and grabbed him.
He emits a high pitched squeal as he jumps, followed by (very loudly) "I NEED NAPPY CHANGE!!!!!"
The Mrs and I were laughing our heads off, the daughter in the lounge room had her face buried in the couch crying with laughter, and the boy is sort of laughing but slowly realising we're laughing at him.
I'm still chuckling 20 minutes later. Wish I had a Go-Pro or something for moments like that. Good times.

I just imagined how terrifying The Adams Family would have been if they'd used Macros' hand for "Thing".
You’ve never heard of the Silanda? … It’s the ship that made the Warren of Telas run in less than 12 parsecs.

I'm sitting in the chinese waiting for my takeaway.
Although I've hardly eaten a thing today, really hungryyy!
I need ribs.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

My jalfrezi was awesome although I can no longer feel my gums. I think I'm finally full.
