Hatch chilies are in! Roasted a bushel last night. I wasn't in town last year, so I went an entire year without. Barely survived. Now all is right with the world besides, nuclear arms proliferation, flooding, starvation, war etc, you know the little things. If I were a poet, I would of paused to express myself in prose, however I'm a shit poet so I will spare you the torturous results.

Walking round Knossos palace in Crete.

Beautiful site. Lots of potsherds! Managed to find some quiet spots away from the camera-clicking multitudes, that convinced me further that there is such a thing as 'vestigium'. Worn steps up to the plaza, small rooms with alcoves and living areas, passageways, storerooms.. could almost feel the life recorded there.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

People using 'we' to mean 'they' has always perplexed me.

Sense of belonging, being part of it. If you're not into sports I guess I can understand you not getting it. I think there was a thread about it in here at one point.

I suppose, but the lack of a fourth wall between the spectator and player is still decidedly odd to me.

And no, I don't follow any sports. Well, unless we're talking pro-level fighting games tournaments, anyway.

Yup.

I still don't get why people do that "we" thing. I also have trouble understanding the "[team name] are crap." construction. They are a team, the very concept of team implies an attempted singular entity, which is why the proper way to say it is "[team name] is crap."

I'd wager that it's because people don't perceive the team as a singular, but as a group. A loose conglomerate, if you would.

Had an amazing birthweekend partying from one end of London to the other, with new friends and old. I now am a complete mess and feel like I could die at any moment. Totally worth it.
