Just been scouting Gluten Free eateries in Amsterdam ready for my trip to Nederland in 3 weeks time!!!

Pleasantly surprised by all the options.
Looking forward to it even more now.

Some of my Corvette friends live there. They come here stateside for about 3 mths every other yr but they also try to talk me into going there during winter cause they know I love snow and never get it it here.

I used to live there myself, and it does get bloody cold.
Only 3 weeks to go. Can't wait.

Salvage Corvettes or bust, suckers

Why yes I have 120 Ion Frigates, why do you ask
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Being on my current department at work is suddenly a LOT more appealing - the one I transferred from have just increased everyone's hours, under the guise that "it's not mandatory, it's overtime, but if no one volunteers people will be made to do it" (aka it's actually mandated). Elongated shifts? Fuck that. If they tried to make me work the hours that have been signed in I'd tell 'em to fuck right off.

Guild Wars 2 is getting an expansion! And it looks awesome! And it has guild halls and GvG and Mursaat! This will only make sense if you played GW1 but rest assured it is very good.

Yeah, even I'm pretty interested and I barely played GW2 much because of an intensely annoying router disconnection issue...

Venus. It is bright as hell and beautiful atm.

Do you live outside/far away from a big city? I ask because you seem really interested in astronomical phenomena and I would have thought most of it would have been dim/invisible due to light pollution. I live in the middle of a metropolis and I can hardly see anything at all.

I'd go batshit crazy if I couldn't see them. As I type this im looking up at Jupiter, Sirius, Orion, and the Orange super giant Arcturus(which basically looks like Mars). I love it.

OK now I am officially jealous. I am lucky if I can see anything more than 3-4 stars.

Jealous! Although now we're in a little country village with little light pollution I'm hoping to get out spotting once it warms up!

You should also look now! Colder air can't hold as much water, which means you have less stuff in the air where the light can get absorbed or reflected away and thus resulting in better chances to see more in winter. :)

Yes Winter is best cause there is less heat haze/shimmer star twinkling happening. That's why I could see the gas clouds in the Milky Way better.

You've declared for Winter? Culture hunt time!

In spite of the Iranian referees best efforts, Australia won the Asian Cup final against South Korea in an absolute nailbiter.

2:1 in extra time. :wallbash: :)

Although letting SK get the equaliser a minute into injury time at the end wasn't great for my heart. :)

And to those who think we shouldn't be in the Asian Cup ...

All hail MAB! Queen of Air and Darkness on the Winter Throne.

I don't know if you have twitter or care about it at all, but if you do (or if you just want to visit it independently) you should check out astronaut Reid Wiseman's feed. He's constantly posting amazing photos (you can dig through his past tweets for many while he was on the space station, he just came back to earth in November): https://twitter.com/astro_reid
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Amazon just showed up with a book and a CD. Since they switched from Royal Mail to private courier their service has really come on.

Also had a cooked breakfast this morning, and now carrying on with the book, which is picking up speed again (I reckon in terms of overall ideas I'm about 40% of the way through book 1 of a planned trilogy).
