Now that IS sweet.

I'm excited because my friend is flying back here for the start of classes, from Edinburgh, so I won't have to pay the absurd shipping costs to get my DoD to the other side of the world.

Got home from work today and my Mom had stopped by and put this soup she makes (green beans, potatoes and BACON) and fresh sliced peaches in my fridge. No turkey sandwich tonight.

Thanks mom!

edit: And i totally missed the cornbread. Win!

This is making me happy right now. A thousand times, yes.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Only two weeks before I leave my job!

Which is good. I've been in archaeology for 9 years, but I'm going back to working in operating theatres as from 7th september.

At least I'm lucky enough to have another career to return to!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

@ Traveller
How'd you manage that. Are you a nurse, or anaesthetist? I only suggest those since I'd be REALLY shocked if you were going back to being a surgeon after a 9 year absence.

Either way, Good Luck with it.

Words cannot adequately convey how much jealousy I am feeling right now.

Football is making me happy right now.

Not a Dr - I'm an anaesthetic technician. I was still doing agency work during my degree, and a bit after, so it's really only been a 5 year break, but I still need an update.

Looking forward to it!

Got a book-shaped package in the post this morning. Yes, it is.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

If it helps, over the weekend not only will my gran still be around, but my aunt, uncle and two cousins will be visiting and not leaving until Sunday. And a friend ungraciously decided to be born 25 years ago today, causing me to go out drinking and not read more today. Hell, if I finish it by Saturday night it'll be a miracle.

OH WELL

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Just back from the doctor, and it was all a mixup. I do not have the problem the insurance company told me I had, I am not gong to go blind, nor will I be losing my eye. Stupid assholes. I was a bit worried, I have to admit.

Congratulations Ray, can and will you be taking any action against the Insurance turds ?
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.
