So that was freaking hilarious!

Disneyland (California - the one in Florida is Disney World I believe) was flipping incredible! Too much to write about now but it was such a great day.

It looks like im going to Legoland next month :) .

Im like a kid at christmas (note I'm 26), I can make it sound less weird by informing you I have a 3 year old son. (although I have always wanted to goto Legoland so I'm well chuffed)

Today, we had our first teacher meeting for the upcoming semester. I'm truly excited to start teaching again, after a couple of months with just research. (I know, I'm atypical, most of my colleagues would rather spend their time doing research than teaching, but I love the teaching part of my job.)

Saw John Williams with the LA Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. About 50% were his works, the other a variety of classic film music. Really great event (he does it annually), and there were kids (and adults) with lightsabers everywhere. When the Star Wars theme started they all went up immediately. The only real downside was that Seth McFarlane was the special guest and came out to sing four songs. That was like 20 minutes of wasted time right in the middle of it. His voice is to singing what cough syrup is to cherry flavor.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

My in-laws have bought a house in Oregon, just a couple of hours outside of Portland. Meaning we'll be spending our holidays in Oregon rather than Alaska from now on.

I am rather excited.

Met Matt Smith, got his autograph, had a proper photo taken with him, and he signed my wife's iphone case on a whim that made her over the moon. Then we got to see a panel with him and Arthur Darvill for an hour. It was a bloody GREAT weekend!

Enjoying a bit of a purple patch at the mo. I took a punt with a semi-career change back in Jan which was supposed to tip the work / life balance back in favour of life. I was a bit worried since it had been 10 or 12 years since it tipped the wrong way and I was afraid that I might discover I didn't like my life and/or wouldn't find things to do with my new found time - I guess a similar scenario to when you hear about people freaking out about retirement but on a smaller scale. Well what a stupid thing to worry about!! I have rediscovered 2 old hobbies, I am able to read again in the evening instead falling asleep after 2 pages because I'm so tired and I haven't been sick in months. It's frickin awesome :D
