Congrats, Sheve!

After three days of camping, my bed is so, so comfortable.

Not to burst your bubble, but RotCG comes chronologically after The Bonehunters, and most safely should be read after RG.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

After a series of annoying fuck-ups and some poor behaviour from a so called friend, the remainder of my gear from when i lived overseas has finally made it back to me. Well over a year later...... Don't ask.

I finally have my scuba gear again, and can now actually start thinking about getting back in the water, and maybe even trying some underwater photography back in the balmy waters around Ireland.

But what's really making me happy is that I also got back my very old MacPro desktop, with an equally old Cinema Display. Both seem in good working order, even if they are over 7 years old, but Apple considers them obsolete and stopped support about 2 years ago for them. I'd been debating whether it was worth saving up to try and get a good screen or even a new desktop to be able to do some proper video editing, and not have to work off my laptop, but I don't have the money at the mo. And unfortunately, my old MacPro can't run the newer MAC operating systems to allow me to use Final Cut X like I normally do.

But, I just spotted a discussion on another forum, where a programmer came up with a nifty little hack which might allow me to install the latest Mac OS onto my old computer, and thereby have access to all the same apps as on my laptop. If it works (fingers crossed) then I can spend a small bit extra on a new video card, and have effectively a new desktop. Nerds are awesome.

I've been watching the Family dog the last few days. It's a pleasure being welcomed by such pure joy when I come home from work.

So the day started off like shit, hadn't slept most of the night, got called in to work, missed my train to uni, and basically figured I might as well not go at all,but for some reason decided to take the next train and be late, so what if I am, it's just life drawing anyway.. I can draw our regular model by heart, anyway. Oh how good it was that I DID go to uni.. We got a new model, and what a nordic god that is, and he can hold the most difficult poses for ages, just chilling there like it's nothing.. I think I creeped him out a bit (that, or the combined efforts of our teacher and me to invoke the times of renaissance painting), but hey, whatever it takes to get a good pose into my sketchbook..

And no, no euphemisms involved in that paragraph.

I've started playing Skyrim semi regularly again - this is good in itself, but it also means I get the cat back of an evening - she'll watch most things on a computer screen, but she particularly likes Skyrim. Thus I am blessed with a musical furry hot water bottle for as long as I like Posted Image
