ah but then in the spirit of equality we'd have to rename the vote to Alcohol versus Pig meat...

That's an awful choice to make. Become a Veggie to be able to drink? Become a teetotaler to eat meat? *forms rope into a noose and tests for strength...*

well, it would expose all the true alcoholics..
ofc, my vote would be to ban the person who even suggested that, lol: I enjoy both too much.

lol
likewise: I don't drink TOO often (try not to, but it's hard, being a student,
), but when I do, it's usually a lot.
I DO tend to remember everything from when I drink though, and i also turn into a self-control freak, so so far there have been few negative consequences.

I can go random lengths of time without drinking, without really realising, but never more than a few days without meat, so that general level is a ridiculous no-contest.

Wait WTF why should it be either beer or bacon??? How are those incompatible in any way?
Anyway I'm for the beer of course. Bacon is just meh whatever - another greasy food. Beer is the beverage of gods.
I can easily ignore hunger by thinking about something else and it's especially easy when I'm fooling around in the organo-chemistry lab.
In fact I don't even feel hunger - instead I grow more and more agitated to the point I'm praying for a stranger in the street to challenge me to a fist fight. And then I realize I'm only in need of some food.
Aaaand it's a common practice for me to drown the strain of a days worth of lectures (5-6 hours) and lab-work (3-4 hours) with a couple chilly mugs of beer so yeah no contest for me - beer wins easy.
I used to be like that... before I really started drinking. That is when you're new to drinking you always worry about control and it usually feels as if you can drink the world and still be ok. Believe me several years later when you find yourself in a hookah bar ordering your fifth set of tequila shots then you'll know what drinking really means.
As far as consequences go I've had my fair share of I-wish-I-had-died-in-my-sleep-last-night days.
I'd quit meat any day if it was between that and quitting alcohol.

I've had a minute of internal turmoil over this
Beer won though, as much as I love bacon it's more of a irregular affair than a long term partner...

I actually tried a beer the other night that tasted supprisingly like bacon...it wasn't great.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."
I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Beer
I mean common Beer is without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind. I mean the wheel was great and all but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.
And you could just eat Beef instead of Bacon

This thread is evil. It's like choosing between your parents!!
However I must go for beer, Holland has no decent bacon and beer has been my loyal companion through many exciting if slightly embarrassing nights.
