Beer vs. Bacon: The age old debate...your vote MATTERS

it takes FAR too much beer
I'm not that patient. It takes a mickey of vodka drunk straight to get me buzzed.
I would require a crate of beer every time I decide to drink.
Not Worth it.
Bacon, otoh, is the PERFECT post-drinking food--the greasiness of it provides the fat that your body will burn as it spends energy to purge the poison that is alcohol from your system duringt he night/next day.

Umm...where I'm from a Mickey is either a drink laced with GHB/rohypnol or a 40oz. of malt liquor...
I hope it doesn't take you 40oz. of vodka to catch a buzz.

I'm not sure what YOU'RE drinking, but maybe you should try a nice import, rather than your arse-flavored beer.
I've tried pretty much every beer ever offered to me (brand and type wise, not every actual beer). Imports from everywhere. Microbrewery ones. Homemade. Expensive. Cheap. Flavoured.
They all still taste bad. Some more palatable than others, but none can i can honestly say tasted any good. And certainly not as good as the majority of spirits and mixed drinks I've tried. Heck, I would prefer to drink straight spirits over most of the beers I've tried...
Maybe I've just been really, REALLY unlucky in what I've tried. I prefer to think you're all delusional

I wish beer got me as drunk as vodka did. I'd save a lot of f-ing money. Know what I mean?
Oh, and by the way the HD top 5 value per dollar vodka purchases, are:
1. Stolichnaya, (Russia)
2. Svedka, (Sweden)
3. Ciroc, (France?)
4. Grey Goose, (France)
5. Kudskova, (Russia)

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

@ Slum
in Canada, at least, a "mickey" is a bottle of about 300mls or so.
@ HD:
personal favourites, going by the "how awesomely trashed it gets you" scale
1 Nemiroff honey with pepper (Ukraine)
2 Soyuz Victan on birch buds (Ukraine)
=3 Finlandia (Finland)
=3 Absolut (Sweden)
5 Stolichnaya (Russia, though it's actually bottled in Estonia or Latvia)
GG is WAAAY too expensive. seriously
of the other ones, numbers 1 and 2 were imports found at rare ocasions, while 3, 4 and 5are generally available in localliquor stores, with the price being 13-15 for a 300 something mL, and about 23-25 for a 26er.

I will admit to not being a fan of the Polish vodka's in general. In my experience, Chopin, Kettle One, and Absolut aren't worth their cost.
Grey Goose is lower because it's damned expensive, but it's so damned good.
I enjoy Svedka way more than Finlandia, and if I am spending the $20.00 to get a 750 mL of Absolut, why not buy the Stoli for $19.00 instead? It's way better.
Vodka connoiseur/off.
Booze > Bacon.

I have a bottle of Grey Goose vodka, bought by a friend of mine on my birthday. I must say when I heard that the french were making vodka I almost laughed, specifially when you look at their beer. But it isn't half bad, unlike their beer which is shit.

Picture this...
Jean Luc Micard, Canadian Mounty out in the boondocks sits alone, looking out the window at the starry night sky. It's cold outside, the wind is blowing fiercely, and is breaking through the thin spaces in between the logged structure. It's been 2 months of cold, and little daylight. Micard pulls his blanket a little tighter around him, to try to maintain as much warmth as possible.
Tonight, Micard's 27th birthday, is even colder, and lonelier. Micard's days were full of dullness. Today, he was out building more Frosty the Snowman's again, all in an effort to strenghten Canada's armed forces. He realizes that Mountying just ain't like it used to be... Well, ever since his partner Alec Trebex had been moved away from the station.
*Flashback
"What do you mean they are transferring you?" Micard demanded. Alec's sudden packing had taken him off guard. "What the hell am I supposed to do here, by myself?" The petulance in his voice would annoy even the most soft-hearted schoolgirl.
Alec, however, just looked at him with those eyes of his, and it calmed him down, like it always did. "It won't be long... you'll see. I'll be back."
That had been 4 weeks ago. Micard hadn't seen a single living soul, since the night Alec left. Ever lonelier, growing ever more desperate for conversation, for a human touch.
The sound of the door banging against the house shattered the silence. Micard looked up, a hopeful gleam in his eye. In strode Alec, straight to Micard, who had stood up without noticing. A single look, Alec's hand stroking his face: "Oh how I've missed you."
*Fade to black
If one looked hard enough, they just might see the coal eyes of each member of the Frosty Battalion glowing in the harsh Canadian winter night.
Edit: Booze makes me feel warm inside, while bacon just makes me want to eat more of it.
