Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Bacon Pros:
Tasty
Satisfying
Manly
Easy to Prepare
Versatile (can be added to just about anything)
Smells great
Can't get arrested for eating bacon and driving.
Can enjoy at any age.
Beer Pros:
Tasty
Satisfying
Refreshing
Manly
Already prepared for you.
Social bonding tool
Has special places, usually with big screen TV's, to enjoy it.
Bacon Cons:
Spoils
Not heart healthy
Bacon love handles
Often a product of environmentally unfriendly meat farming
Beer Cons:
A 2 at 10 becomes a 10 at 2.
Getting ticketed for something alcohol related.
Can't legally get it until a certain age.
Hangovers
Beer gut

I still can't believe this thing is even close, and to think how much time I've spent bullshitting with all these people that can just turn their backs on such a glorioius beverage.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."
I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

I can't believe that this is this close...beer is great and all, but I worry for everyone who voted for it other bacon.
I mean, seriously, you love bear over bacon? This isn't just macho bullshit?
EDIT; quite sincerely, I mean beer*

Anyone voting for Bacon is banned from High House Intoxicated. We might only have two members, but drunks are fun.

There's far too much Vodka in that group anyway. Which goes some way towards my point

Well, that's because I mainly drink vodka. And, as the creator of the group, I didn't feel like putting much time into it!

huh?
I heart vodka
at the same time, nothing works better as a chaser (I drink it straight, the way my parents taught me
), than some greasy meat, and no meat is greasier than bacon.

I concur. Huh?
I'm just saying I like beer more than bacon. Not surprising from the guy who made High House Intoxication a social group.

We had bacon sanwiches for breakfast today. We could have them for lunch and dinner - you could also drink beer at all three meals, but could you actually tell anyone that without them looking at you oddly?* :eek3: And I just took a straw poll - 100% in favour of bacon.
*OK - probably a moot point for some people here, but it's still valid. #

'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

thank freaking god that beer is pulling ahead again. This thread is giving me siezures thinking that people could choose beer over bacon. I had both yesterday and I can safely say I'd give up the salty pork product before I EVER THOUGHT about giving up the fermented grain product.

Besides, bacon has a very ready substitute, the pork breakfast sausage. It even has more meat than bacon.
