Of all the books in all the shelves in all the bookstores, why these? Oh yah, 14 million lonely women bought yet another 'supernaturalromanceshootemup' with the leatherclad woman on the cover. When will this genre die?

Rant off.

Read some of the first book, didn't see anything that put it above the thousand other books taking up space on the Fantasy/SF shelves with the supernatural female protagonist vs. . I blame Laurell K Hamilton.

LOL :p We're trying to please all kinds of fans, even the ones who enjoy the paranormal stories like Dark Hunter :p Hopefully in the next 5-10 years, we'll have a full library and a lot of good stuff for all book readers :p

Excellent!

I noticed Laurell K Hamilton has her books out in illustrated format as well. Terry Brooks is doing it, Dean Koontz hopped on, Stephen King, and someone at ComicCon told me Barbara Hambly's got something in the works.

I suppose the loss of half of our SF/Fantasy shelving to the Manga craze might have something to do with it. As well as comic books are finally becoming a legitimate form of literature (thank you Mr. Gaiman, Ellis, Moore and even you Mr. Miller), a couple decent films didn't hurt either.

Heck, I've bought a few adaptations myself.

The anita blake graphic adaptions were done by the dabel brothers I think. So blame them for that too if you wish :)

The drawings here seem a lot more manga like than does your other publications, at least to my mind. Is this a conscious decision on your part?

Well, we've done more graphic novels like Anita and so forth in the past, but Dark Hunter will be one of our first manga, and a conscious decision on our part :)

I like this stuff for in-between novels (although I prefer Michelle Sagara, Karen Chance, Patricia Briggs, etc.). If the point is escapism and I'm looking for easy reading I always head over to the paranormal chick-lit book section.

An added advantage is that the wife will read them too so I can pass her one when the football starts ;-)

Tamirlyn my friend, the Mercy story that we are putting together for Patricia Briggs is an original story and what I've seen of the art so far is amazing! I'll be sure to give you a heads up once the artwork is available to the public :D

LOL :D I'm happy to hear that it will help with the upcoming football season :D Please let her know that there's a new Simi poster up

I hope that helps for the football season as well :)
