I just wish they were going for realistic computer animation ala the final fantasy movie, instead of the stylized anime look they used.

I don't really see the point in this movie. The cartoon series was brilliant, and this doesn't seem to cover anything new.
I'll still watch it, though, and hope it will be decent.

So, they made a CGI film about the period of time which was already covered by a cartoon series and could potentially be covered by the original actors, instead of the period of time you can't do with the same actors anymore and would be much more doable in CGI - the post-Return of the Jedi period, with Luke, Leia and Han. Who'd rather see a series about them then take two of the adventures of Darth Whiny?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

the cartoon series made me want to punt kittens.
the dialogue
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
*bazooo bazoooo bzzzzzzzt* (light saber fight / guns)
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
"may the force be with you"
fuck, so stupid. The stylized thing looked retarded too. I know it was supposed to look badass or something but it came off like the animators of spongebob squarepants had done it.
Big hater of the cartoon series and definitely won't be seing this movie.

Saw the trail for this when I saw Wall-E. It's actually going to be a tv series, they're just going to release the pilot cinematically. I'm not especially stoked for this as Episodes 1 - 3 killed off my sense of wonder for the Star Wars Universe.
However, that said, I rather liked the cartoon Clone Wars, but I must admit at this juncture that I'm something of a fan of Genndy Tartakovsky's work so the stylisation was right up my street.

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I liked the cartoon network series was fun. Plus I think all the episodes toghether make for an hour of footage so I reckon their will be alot more to cover.
That said people need to see this for what it is. Its aimed to promote a new TV series one produced for kids. Its just their to make money. I know thats what all movies are for but George lucas is willing to sell the rights to his work to anyone who will send him a buck. TV movie books its all out their by a thousand different writers. Its not worht getting mad over

The good: They got someone new to voice Anakin, Sam JAckson is back
The bad: Yoda is voiced by someone new for the first time

That callous dipshit George Lucas gets no more money or attention from me.
The prequels were so badly handled that it turned me off Star Wars forever.
That being said,
the Valley of the Uncanny phenomenon contributed in part to the FF movie bombing. If you're going CGI, go Pixar or with this style so the viewer can stop making those unconscious "it looks human.... but it's not" circles in their heads.

Yeah, I've still never even bothered to watch Episode 3...was never that much of SW geek though?
So this is Star Wars, anime style? Odd...

I've heard of this, but didn't know what it was called. It's the idea that the closer to human something gets, the more we instinctively dislike it, right? I've heard it applied mostly to robotics, but it fits here very well.

So there I was, lying naked on a vast pile of money cradling my exclusive Boba Fett action figure/real doll and just enjoying life, when one of my Jawas (really midgets in brown Klansmen robes, except for the sex dwarfs which all have Leia's ROTJ costume) gave me the 'most popular parts of the series' listings I ask for occasionally. I glanced through it briefly, and all was well until I saw this thing called 'Clone Wars'. What could this be, I asked my stretched and stained bounty hunter buddy, and read on. Apparently it was a cartoon series I'd approved of a while back but had completely forgotten and- AH! Had no creative input in! THIS was one of the most popular entries in my franchise!? I had to fix that, and fast. So I used the old Lucas formula; CGI! Regrettably, there was no money left over for a writer, so we just made it like the prequel trilogy. I'm a GENIUS.
Bloody Lucas.

Congratulations, my naive chicken friend. You have crossed the line, you have found for yourself a place in hell that has previously been reserved only for critics, pirates, and David Prowse. You have enraged me to a point from which there is no return. My lawers will soon be in contact to smack a cease and desist on your ass.
NO ONE steals my thoughts. NO ONE.

Note to self: must add more ewoks.
