Now that the big cheese is gone (Anomander) does that means that Karsa
will stand against Icarium?
I m referring to the message from hood that he have to stand and fight
a god...
That thing is already building up in the previous books so it might actually hapen
your thoughts please

The impression that I got of that scene was that Karsa was to wait so that he could kill the Tyrant. Also if Icarium does appear I do not think it will be on Genabackis as Mappo just left there.

I don't know who Karsa is waiting for there. Something tells me it won't be simply "The Tyrant" though.

Well he is there to kill a God as Picker said so. The Tyrants of Darujhistan were mortals but with some power or at least quite cruel (or they wouldn't be called Tyrants).
So definitely something bigger awaits Karsa.

Well, gods can be in many shapes and sizes. Ironbars kills some soletaken god in book 5 without much sweat, although losing some soldiers.
Hm, regarding what god it will be I kind of doubt it would be Icarium. It just wouldn't be very S.E like as I see it. Maybe some smalltime god we don't really know or maybe it is really an old tyrant.

I'm thinking it might be the CG also. Where better for the final CG showdown to happen than Darujhistan?

Karsa won't be the one to kill the Crippled God - not if it took Anomander Rake, K'Rul, Fener, Envy, and a whole other assortment of insanely powerful beings just to contain him. Karsa isn't even as capable with the sword as Rake on his own. Besides, I think the Crippled God plot will face resolution before SE ends his 10 book series, and I think Ian Esslemont will cover Darujhistan afterward.
I also doubt Karsa will face Icarium. I think SE is not one for setting up anticipated encounters. He likes to have characters face something unexpected.

But now he IS chained, and so is less powerful

Why do you say that? We haven't seen them go against each other, nor do they have a common opponent against which we can judge their respective performances. PLus Rake had a really cool sword, cooler than Karsa's.

Uh....Rake is pretty much the man. It stands to reason that someone w/ 300,000 plus years (or more) of experience with swordsmanship is better than Karsa. Sorry, the whole Rake/Traveller fight pretty much convinced me that Rake was the best.

Good point. However, I still think Karsa will be heavily involved in the death of the CG

yes i agree with Prime...during the Rake/Dassem fight the book stated that none present/witnessing could even see the exchanges/blows...and karsa was present, so this leads me to believe in a sword fight he is Rake and Dassem inferior....i think he would need help with the CG. i have some crazy thought of who this od could be, but these are just pipe dreams

I vote the Tyrant and that we will never have seen anything like this "entity" before, mostly because Cam is picking up the story-line from SE.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Well I vote 'God'. 'Cause Picker bloody well said so and her message was from a God and she said so and a god told her to so she did.
If the Tyrant's a god then it's all gravy but with the fact that anyone can travel anywhere at pretty much any time, why should Karsa have to stay to kill this god in DJ?
That wasn't a stipulation. Maybe Karsa needs to meet up with someone then go somewhere else and wup god-ass!
If you want a spoiler for it click here.
Bear in mind that the spoiler doesn't guarantee the Tyrant/god/Darujhistan-all-together link (but it will be fucking awesome!).

The donkey will stand against Icarium!
Seriously though, I'm not even sure someone will have to stand against Icarium. But if it has to be someone, I'm betting Mappo.

Kruppe remains one of the biggest mysteries in Wu. Good point.

Thats true. Wasnt she(possibly) going to kill him.
On a side note, all FA I remember seem to have names like "calm" and "serenity" are they related, or is it just a race thing.

Presumably it's a race thing, to go with their mantra of bringing peace wherever they go.
Avoid being seen as racist by saying, "I'm not a racist, but ..." prior to making a racist comment.
