poor bwoody... the necro even gets more girls than him! this is on par with SE recognizing Abyss as a 'funny guy' or whatever it was.

So, just to make it clear, he didn't make special mention of "Xander" as the handsome one?!?!?!?!

:D

So could the Tiste pre-history series be something akin to Tolkien's Silmarillion?....i mean as in a history of their races? But much move vast and in-depth, of course.

I doubt it would be SE's style to do a Silmarillion, he doesn't really seem into the idea of pandering to the fans, my guess would be a 3 book story arc, but it's just a guess.

I'm sure someone else must have said there is a Rake POV in GOTM when he fights the galen lord. He muses he is soletaken then thinks but so am i. Admittedly it is small and the only insight we get but there is a POV of Rake.

there is a POV from rake in GotM in that exact place, but as you say it is like less than a page. probably a GotMism

I've been pointing that out for months and you guys are the first to acknowledge that! Though I'm sure others have pointed it out as well.

hahaha i must have missed those posts xander... that POV is like a rare artifact.

all this rake talk has reminded me of that post someone made about how a D&D player would explode after reading anomanders spec sheet. AND DID I MENTION HE LIVES IN A FLYING MOUNTAIN!?!?

Sorry sir not seen it. I always thought we'd get another but for obvious reasons we never did.

LMAO at the D&D stat sheet joke.

Remember what Endest...or is it Spin says about Rake's mind? It goes in thousands of different directions at once..or something like that. His mind is basically unfathomable to anyone other than him or someone as powerful or old....

Well even Nightchill could not predict Rake's actions and she is an Elder God :D
Maybe Osserc can understand him

The thing I like about Rake is that SE doesnt seem to try very hard to give us the impression that this character is really (REALLY) cool.He enters the scene and somehow you expect his next line to be awesome. It's unbelievable!

The guy has been carrying an entire realm filled with super powerful souls on his back for thousands of years. A fucking Elder God said it would've made his knees buckle....amazing.

I imiagine if SE did go ahead with this, the story would be from the perspective of those around Rake at the relevant times.
Which of course opens up a huge mass of interesting possibilities.

- Abyss, always interested.

I don't want to cheapen the thread but you'd have to have a massive head to store 300,000 years of memories, your brain only has a finite capacity.

He's a Tiste Andii... he's an ascendant... he's a draconean soletaken. I don't think using human brain capacity as an example of what Rake can and can not do is going to work.

Also who says the human brain can't store 300.000 years of existance? Is there a finit amount of space? There's the information immediatly avilable to us and then there's all that random information that lies in our subconcious.

Tiste Andii could have spare brain in their arse too.

Of course the human brain has a finite amount of storage capacity,it just an organic computer

Tiste could have some sort of infinite fractal memory.

Also consider that in the Malazan universe souls are definitely real, and people who die still remember what they knew in life. So the brain's capacity may be irrelevant.

Hey, at least Silchas has every chance of remembering his last 300,000 or so thousand years.

Diary of Ruin

Tuesday: Laid about in pile of roots for a while. And then laid about a bit longer.
Wednesday: Laid around some more. Pretended roots were dancing.
Thursday: Roots began dancing. Pretending to be vaguely impressed as to not hurt their feelings.
Friday: Roots formed sentence, "Neh neh nehneh neh." Swore at them, then they started sulking.
Saturday: Ooh, new neighbours! Oh, they're teenage Thelomen Tartheno Toblakai troublemakers. There goes the neighbourhood.
Sunday: Continuing to put up with uninterrupted verbal abuse all day from Lore. Shall write to the Council about this. Again.
Monday: Had another vision of 'elder days', this time of - urgh - Rake journeying into Envy's ah, 'warren'. Thanks, mom. Thanks a lot.
Tuesday: Bored. Going to find Gothos and punch him in the cock when I get out of here. Still no reply from the Council. Will need to find that letterbox eventually.
Wednesday: Laid around in roots. Roots have forgiven me and are practising the waltz. Have seen worse.

Diary of Lore

Monday-Sunday: HATECRAZYBITCHFEST 10,000
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
