Where did this "Rake trilogy will be from his PoV" idea come from??

I've seen this a few times now, and to quote Illy (vaguely), it's silly and wrong.
I'm honestly intruiged, why do people assume that just because we know it's going to be about Rake, that it must be from his PoV? We know he's had a decent number of companions and enemies over the millenia, the most likely idea is that it will be from their PoVs.

I agree.
A POV by Rake may cheapen his image for me.
It should be someone like Osserc and Triss and Spinnock and Endest and Korlat etc.
Oh a POV by the first person in Dragnipur would be great.
"Hahahaha. So Draconus, you finally decided to join us. I wonder who defeated you and wields Dragnipur now?"

Well Steve never said it (yes I'm calling him Steve now, big whoop, wanna fight about it) and given that I still haven't found a Rake POV I doubt it will be. It would damage the enigmatic mystique of the man/dragon.

Steve said at a few of the book signings, certainly the Manc one, as I heard it with my highly sensitive feline ears that he would be doing a trilogy on Rakes earlier life (obviously) but not at a book a year since this was too high a pace for him.

copied over from another topic since it's relevant.
re: anomander rake pov, SE mentioned at the bbq that it has been a deliberate choice of his not to use an anomander rake pov, as he didn't think he would be capable of writing the pov of someone hundreds of thousands years old, with such immense power as he believed he couldn't even begin to understand how such a person thinks. So unless it's very early in rake's history, don't expect a POV in my book.
he also mentioned that he was aiming to get the series out at a rate of a book every 18months, as a book a year was killing him, but I wouldn't be surprised by a gap of a couple of years between tCG and the new rake book as I suspect he will take a break between books for once.

For those who haven't heard anything about it, SE confirmed at a few signings that he is signed up for two more trilogies, one about Rake's earlier life, and one following on (ish) from tCG. He was very vague about both though, so details are yet to be decided, I imagine.

Yays!
I could've sworn there was a PoV of Rake's in GotM...or the closest thing to it we've had....right before he goes down to fight the Demon near the end....oh well.
The series after tCG....hmmm....

its not so much a Rake trilogy though, is it?
at the Glasgow signing he said it would be about the whole Tiste early history, not just Rake, all three races. I believe the term cosmological mythos may have been mentioned.

Even better, though it seems Rake is the central Tiste persona....with only Osseric rivaling him for importance overall.

Well, one can hope he will do a single chapter or similar looking though Rake's eyes. If anybody could pull it off, it would be sir S.E.

We were sitting at the back and Steve said "hey aren't you that guy off the forums" a clearly delighted broody says "who me" to which Steve replies "no, the guy next to you" which was Tiste. Steve then followed up with " I recogise you because you are always in pictures with hot girls" Simeon beamed, whilst Broody quietly died inside and Stone Monkey, Grumble, IH, Mezla and I laughed our arses off.

I know this is off topic but it's worth reiterating that until this book Broody still wouldn't accept that Traveller was Daseem.
