Favre might come back!

The Packers had been preparing for him leaving for years. And, if they had really wanted him they could have had him. Not crushed. Distracted by the media circus perhaps, but that wasn't even entirely his fault. The media itself shares some of that blame, as do the Packers themselves.
The Jets knew without a doubt that they were getting him for most likely one year, with a possibility of two. That's exactly what he gave them, and without the injury he might be back for the second. Now, you can question the wisdom of their decision to dump the franchise QB in order to sign a veteran who will be gone after a season or two. That was their decision though, one they felt would be best for the franchise. The Jets are not crushed, they're just a little light at QB now. Dumping Pennington for Favre was up to them. You think he should have said "No thanks to that conract, I think signing me would be a bad long-term decision for your team." No, they wanted him, he wanted to pplay, everybody got what they wanted.

Easy Chewy.
I could care less if Favre comes back except that i'll have to watch them talk about it on ESPN 24/7. And it might be with the Vikings, which would suck. I'd be much happier playing them with Rosenfels or Jackson under center.

Wait wait wait, I must be out of the loop. He's retired from the Jets as well? And might come back with the Vikings? Oh God.
Die already Favre. Stupid ass retiring/coming back all the time.

But...but...he's rubbish. Dont get me wrong, he was great, but now he's old and the way he collapsed at the end of the season doesnt bode well for his future prospects. Stay retired, Mr Favre. Even if it's just so I dont have to try and pronounce that surname correctly.

@SB - Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't care if he plays. He sucks anyways. I just hate the god-damned 3-ring media circus it brings every time he comes out of retirement or even thinks about it. I hate hearing about him every day for months.

I"m to the point of not caring. I cared at first, but now it's a big "whatever" for me.

The mans chosen profession is playing ball. So let him play as long as he feels like it. I just wish the media would shut up about it.

Hate the media, not Favre. He just wants to play football. Let him. If it has to be for the stinking Vikings, so be it.
And about how he played poorly at the end of last year...The man had a ruptured tendon in his throwing arm. Think that might affect your performance as a QB a bit. /fanboyrant

I suppose this is justification for the past COUPLE of years he's been sucking? Must I remind you of his game against the Giant's for the Superbowl game against the Pats and he threw the interception that lost GB the chance? Come on now! I love GB, Favre used to be a badass, now his time has passed. Move on I say!

Brett Favre is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.
And that is all I have to say. He can do no wrong. I grew up sitting in the stands and watching him play, so there isn't really anything I can complain about. He MADE the Green Bay Packers of my childhood/young adulthood. Nothing can take that away.

Yeah, I remember that interception. It ended a 13-3 season. What an embarrassment. I know any time I see a QB go 13-3 it's surely a sign that he needs to hang it up. Ok, being sarcastic, but my point is that 2 seasons ago isn't really relevant in discussing his decline, as it was a great season, up to that one pass.
So if we eliminate that season, we're left with last season to find evidence he has been sucking for the past two years. Hmmmm. By week 12 they were 9-3. Favre statistically had one of his best games ever. Then, the last 5 games they went 1-4 and missed the playoffs. Let's see here. What could have been going on those last 5 weeks to make them (including favre) play so badly. Oh, I remember something about an injury...to one of their keys players...something about, what was it now, oh yes, FAVRE HAD A FREAKING RUPTURED TENDON IN HIS THROWING ARM!!!!!
So, not counting when they were dominating for an entire season, and not counting when Favre was leading a soft Jets team to a 9-3 record, and not counting when he was playing through a bad injury, when exactly did he suck in the last two years? There was that one pass, true enough.
I mean, I'll give it to you that the man is not on the top of his game. He's old. Even from the depths of my fanboydom, I won't try to tell you that he's the best QB in the league. However, he's far from the worst, and still better than a lot of them, including any of the assholes at Minnesota. That's really all that matters. He doesn't have to be the best to be valuable in the NFL. He only has to better than any of the other QBs a team has in order to make that individual team better. That would be the Vikings. Go ahead, try to justify why you would rather have Tavaris Jackson or whatever his name is instead of Favre.

Sage Rosenfels, who just might be worse than Jackson.
The Vikings are built to win NOW. They have a solid O-line, the best running back in the league and a top notch defense, especially against the run. The only place their weak is qb. If they added a guy like favre, coupled with that running game, they could be flat out scary.

That's what I'm saying. He's no answer long term, but short term? I think he could still contribute.

Either Sage or Jackson will be better for the vikings than Brett Im-now-terrible-favre.

They all certainly like to turn it over, that's for sure. Tarvaris Jackson is like a poor man's Seneca Wallace. And Seneca Wallace is not a very good QB.

Now that's just plain ignorant to say that the 13-3 season was based solely off Favre's contributions (Don't get me wrong, of course the skill of the QB plays a huge role, but without his o-line he's nothing). Okay, I'll take into consideration his ruptured tendon, sure. So explain to me how he still manages (With and without said injury) an astronomically high amount of interceptions? Not just leading the league in some instances, but in his career overall. I mean shit, by the end of 2007 he had thrown 288 (First in all time?), granted he did throw 442 TD passes. He led the league in picks thrown in two separate seasons, and has tossed at least 20 interceptions in five different seasons.
Don't get me wrong, I think he used to be amazing. Now it's getting to the point where he's bleeding out and losing it. On a progressive level, he's getting worse.
Personally, just to see Favre smashed by Minnesota's 'rival' team, I'd like him to play for the Vikings. I mean, Favre was a douche, he apparantly 'retired', then went to play for the Jets and now possibily the Viking's? Hopefully he'll do it, then get mauled by the Packers and Rodgers. On another note, hell yeah of course Favre would be better for Minnesota. But I hate the Viking's, so I'd rather see them without a decent QB.

But thats just it.
Favre will throw interceptions. Look at all the games the viking games last year. When did they lose? When they had a negative turn over ratio.
Thats it. All they need is a non interception throwing QB. Taht is it. Farve is not htat.
