No, that's not how it works.

I want to play football, but that doesn't mean I can. Favre is old, and wants to go to a team that has Super Bowl potential....ok, fine...but any team that is in Super Bown contention HAS A QB THAT'S WORTH A DAMN. And quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the Pack says "fine, go for it" and he doesn't get picked up as a starter anywhere.

Meh, most sports reporters seem to think that if he comes back to GB, he's going to be the starter. Just because of the rabid fans who all clamor for Favre. Rodgers would never get a fair shot from the fans with Favre as a backup; the first game he threw 3 picks (something Favre does all the time) the fans would all be up in arms, chanting for Favre, creating animosity b/t the two - if there isn't already - and forcing the Packers' hand.

I'm so over it at this point though. I could really care less where Mr. Drama Queen goes if he's traded...chances are he's only going to embarrass himself and ruin what was the perfect retirement, not to mention tarnish his image and alienate once-loyal fans.

I'm starting to think of him as less of a drama queen. His deal is, every year at the end of the season he doesn't feel like playing anymore. When it gets closer to the next season, he does want to. Seems reasonable. A lot of the wondering what he's going to do could have been avoided if we had just figured it out earlier. "Ok, he's going to sit around and not want to play, but eventually he will, so let's plan on him playing."

Until the year you plan on him playing and he doesn't. By the way, it's not his waffling on whether he wants to play or not that is making him a drama queen, it's the way he is behaving now. "I don't feel welcome." Boo hoo Brett you caused if yourself!

Off topic question as to Ronaldo: Why do these EPL players want to go to La Primera? The premiereship has proven that it's the best league in the world recently. Does Real pay that much more than Man U?

Is it so unreasonable to feel unwelcome after being told he isn't welcome? He says he bears no hard feelings for that and understands he brought it on himself, he just wants to go somewhere he IS welcome.

I think that if he "truly understood" why the Pack management was acting the way they were he'd be a hell of a lot more contrite and less demanding about being straight out released which is never going to happen.

Look, he has 'retired' twice now.

I think that the Pack has every right to say 'fine, give us back your signing bonus for your last contract, and we will release you to play wherever you want.'

It is simple, he is attempting to break his contract with no repurcussions. I assume he is still under contract with the Pack, because if he wasn't, he wouldn't have to ask their approval to play somewhere else.

It is the Packer's decision. They need to play Aaron Rogers, and he is screwed because if he dosen't lead the pack to a superbowl win this year, the pack fans will call for his head. Favre is yanking the packers around, screw him. You play mind games with your contract holder, they can stop you from playing football games.

He is still under contract, and would like nothing more than to fulfill that contract. They don't want him to fulfill his contract though, so it's reasonable to ask to be released from it.

Now you know that's wrong RLY. His contract doesn't stipulate that he has to be the starting quarterback therefore he could still fulfill his contractual duties without being released.
