Are you kidding we have some of the best quarterbacks in the game. Our running game is outstanding, our offensive line is horrendous...er...wait...Huge. Our defense is old and slow...er....I mean fast and mobile.

Ah fuck it I am from Oregon....GO DUCKS...now that Brett is gone I will probably just play fantasy football and root for the DUCKS...
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

I agree with you Obdi, I don't think he was that great to begin with. Excellent athlete, poor decision maker. Kinda like Cordell Stewart was. I'm really hoping that Vince Young doesn't follow suit.
I'm really hoping the Bears can manage to rally themselves this year, but i don't expect much. They really looked old last year, and haven't done much in the off season to suggest things will be any better this time round. Same QB issues, now they're down a RB as well in Cedric Benson (which will probably be a blessing in disguise. I really disliked him). And several of the once mighty defence have been injury prone in recent seasons. A lot needs to go right.

But fingers crossed.

Vick showed moments of brilliance, but his answer when his team was in trouble was to run the ball.

Some games he was a great passer, other games he threw 5-8 interceptions.

Vic should be an option running back, the kind who can pass the ball on the option. As a qb his decision making was horrendous kind of like how the Bears are going to be...:D

In other news the vikings look like they might be really good this year.

I think the Queenies (Vikings) are going to win the division at 9-7 or so, but loose in the first round.

It all depends on how good the QB/WR's are going to be. The D is strong and the RB is amazing...

Vick's got an indefinite ban, iirc. They might let him back, but don't have to.

The chance of teams repeating are very very low, and while the Packers are a better team in the NFC, the Vikings are also much improved this year on defense and are waiting on a breakout year from Tarvaris Jackson to win that division ahead of the Pack.

Would note that the Colts have not had a problem with this :D Although, those damn Jaguars get better every year. Without Favre, I see Vikings winning the division at 10-6. Chicago and Detroit = 4 wins. Sorry Bears fans.

Without Favre, what do the packers have better than the vikings?

The pack has no running game, their defense isn't very good....and without a QB the passing game isn't there...

I would put Tarvarius Jackson and Aaron Rodgers on the same level right now.

Um, the packers have a running game, their defense is pretty good, and we don't know that Rodgers won't be good.

Look at some stats from last year. The running game sucked at first, but was on track by the end. Grant is pretty good. The defense wasn't the best in the league and has some issues, but overall I think they rated as one of the top 10 defenses iirc. Rodgers played well when he got the chance. In that dallas game, he outplayed favre. He's a first round pick QB who has had three years to learn the system and get tutored by the Gunslinger. He might be fine.

grant is a good back, but taylor/peterson is much better especially when you consider the offensive line is much better in minnesota as well.

defensively, the passrush still favors greenbay a little bit: kampmann, KGB, etc on the pack and jared allen for the vikings with kenichi down and erasmus james traded to the redskins, but they have good interior linemen in guys like pat williams and better defensive backs.

the vikings screwed the pooch when they didnt go after a top TE in the draft though.. shiancoe and kleinsasser arent top talents(and wasnt kleinsasser a fullback a few years back?)

the vikings have the better chance of winning in lambeau at this point with their running game, so i put them on top in that division. the lions still can conceivably compete, but they lost kevin jones and replaced him with spare parts(though kevin smith out of UCF could be big). their defense can only go up from where they were(worst in the league) and they were competing for playoff position most of the year

I don't know, the Vikings have the potential to be good, but the packers are returning almost the exact team that's been proven to be good. Minus Favre, of course, but they showed last year they didn't need him to win every game by himself.

they played really well last year, but im not necessarily sold that they are a consistent NFC championship team. keep in mind the bears and what happened to them after their big seasons too. i think they are a top 25% team in the nfc, but not sold on them as the top team.

I'm not saying they're making it back to the NFC championship game, but I think they can win the NFC North and win 10 or 11 games.

Here's the big difference. You win the division, the next year you play the other 3 division winners in your conference, as well a division winner from the other conference. For the Pack: They get the AFC South this year. Ouch. Colts and Jags will beat them. Dallas will probably beat them. Seatlle, I'll give you a win. Tampa Bay, I'll give you a win. That's 3-2 at best with just the division leaders they have to play this year. An improved Minnesota team should necessitate at least a split. Beyond that, I don't know much. but 4-3 isn't exactly spectacular, but then again, it isn't bad at all especially with the level of competition.

The great thing about the NFL is that with the exception of a few perennial powers (Pats, Colts, etc) there are always those "when the hell did they get good?" teams.

The Vikings have a lot of potential, but the QB Jackson needs to at least show some stability. Peterson had a great Rookie year but defenses will be a little better prepared than last year. Their defense is sick though.

When the hell are the Cardinals going to cash in on all the talent they have? Sick talented WR's, improving Defense....if Leinart could get his ass in gear they have a chance to win 10 games in that weak ass division.

Packers are an unknown. Is Rodgers ready? Will Favre come back? They still don't have a Top Talent WR.

The Lions are...well...the Lions. How does Matt Millen still have a job?

My pick to win 10 games this year is the Bills.

Despite all of his achievements, when you get right down to it, Farvre is a douche. I mean, really, come on...

I don't think he's a douche, he's just been doing something all his life and is now dealing with that not being part of his life anymore.

I can't say I wouldn't be doing the same thing.

Nope. Doucheroni. I can't imagine Manning or Brady having this same sort of protracted, in-the-public-eye waffling of future status.
