Reportedly he want to come back. I read in a different place that they already told him no thanks, and he requested to be released. They said no.
I don't know what to think about all of this. I would love to see him back, but it might be too late. I'm afraid he's going to fuck up his legacy by getting into a huge fight with the Packers, and then playing for someone else.

I'm of 2 minds. I wouldn't mind seeing him play again on the one hand. However, I'm getting sick of these so-called "retirements". I mean, either don't talk about it and suddenly retire when the time feels right so that you haven't been a distraction, or don't talk about it and stay so you aren't a distraction. He's done this for the past few seasons, and I would get tired of the ups and downs if I was a Packers fan. Of course they love him, but, come on man make up your mind!
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Yeah, I'm as big of a Favre and Packers fan as I know, but it's getting old. Especially this time, where actually retired instead of just wouldn't commit one way or another. It would kill me to see him come back to play for another team.

I'd like to see him come back quaterbacking for a rival team. That'd be interesting. Otherwise, the novelty has worn off.

Indy kinda goes through this with Dungy every year. I can't imagine what I'd be doing if this was Peyton. Probably alternately hysterically crying in misery then in pure joy.

you know what
at this point, fuck brett favre. he's being a dipshit and i feel very bad for aaron rogers. the packers cant cut favre because of who is he and what it would make them look like, but they should tell him that hes retired and he needs to shutup.

Farvre has had ample time time to reflect on his time in the spotlight; no doubt, he has had ample time to prepare a soliloquy to his fans...
To come back now is to invite scorn...
I mean, for Christ's sake, he's a lock for Hof immortality...
Beyond his accolades, he's just too damn proud to quit. Everyone, at some point, has to call it quits. Does Brett Farvre think another go round is going to paint him in a better light? Unlikely.
My advice: Easy, tiger... enjoy a happy wife, kids, legacy...be still. Make appearances on NFL Sundays as a guest host, if it makes you happy. You've earned it.

He wants another superbowl, and the packers are good enough to get there if the cards fall right.

Now Favre is saying it's all a rumor. I don't know about that, there are plenty of people in the know who said it was true. Maybe since the Packers said no, he's covering.

I love Favre but I feel sorry for Rodgers as well.
Come on Favre, become a Chicago Bear!

If it's purely about winning a superbowl, then no team gives him a better shot than Green Bay. They were close last time, he knows the system and the personnel etc.
But if they're saying no, then I think the only other reasonable option would be to head to Atlanta. They have a rookie quarterback that could do without having to carry the franchise immediately. Atlanta were the team that drafted and got rid of Favre originally, and it would be like completing the circle, both for them and him. And since he is really getting old, I think one season will be all he lasts and then he can hand the reins over to Matt Ryan.
For my sins I'm a Bears fan, but i can't see him ever going to Chicago, much as I'd love it. Especially if the Bears actually had a quarterback they were trying to develop instead of a collection of going nowhere's.
Much as i love watching "The Gunslinger" i wish he'd make up his mind.

I sort of stopped paying attention after a while with that whole Vick thing, but is he banned for life? Or will he go back to Atlanta when he gets out of gaol?

Vick is not banned at all.
Once out of jail he can play anytime he wants. He lost 1 season to the NFL rules, but he was in jail for all of it.
Favre shouldn't be doing this. The packers have been preparing to go with Aaron Rogers, and building what thye think they need around him. Green Bay needs to move on and see what they can do about working towards being a good team in the future.
But the Pack certainly cannot release him and have him go somewhere else, that would be horrible for them.
Frankly, I don't think without Favre they can win the central, but with him I doubt they go to the superbowl again...

Vick hasn't been banned for life by the NFL, and because he has actually been punished by the legal system, they probably won't compound that punishment to much. As far as i remember, the NFL Commissioner, will review his case upon his release, and set Vick a number of conditions to meet. He will most likely be ineligible for one more season after his release from prison on probation, and provided no more screw ups he'll be able to apply for re-instatement. That might be as early as the 2009-2010 season?
But the Falcons have cut him. And are looking towards the future with Matt Ryan.

Ahh I thought he had been banned for the season he was in jail, and would have to get the approval of the Commissioner to get in after that, but I could very easily be mistaken, I didn't really follow that whole thing. He was never that good of a QB anyway, in my opinion.

Ok here is the thing with the Packers. Aaron Rodgers is injury prone so about 4 games in he will pull something/break something then cause the pack doesn't have a good back up they will call in Bret who will lead them to the playoffs only to lose to the BEARS.....muahahahhaha
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

I would put money that Detroit will get into the playoffs before the bears this year.
