bush was producing fine when deuce was healthy. hes never been successful without a power back to change pace with. he's like the dude on the bears.. hard to find a real position, but it needs to involve the ball and the open field.
as far as starting ryan immediately, history suggests that its better for someone to wait and mature more prior to starting immediately at qb. vince young is only the latest big name to be affected by that judging by his terrible sophmore season(and unimpressive statistical freshman season). this is supported by the large number of low round or undrafted starting qbs in the league currently and in recent years as well.

I'd say the Falcons need to wait at least 8 games, but Ryan's one of the smartest QB's to come out in the last few years...perhaps he has a better learning curve.

I feel bad for QBs who have to start too soon. Most complex position in the game, and everything is on their shoulders. There's a lot of guys who have been ruined by throwing them out there too soon. That's why I'm hopeful for Rodgers. He's had plenty of time to learn the offense and get used to the idea of being in the NFL, and has gotten to play some.

I don't hate the patriots or brady. I just hate the medai who give them verbal fellatio every week. Some of the sports commentators talk about brady like they've already pulled their knee pads on. THAT, is what irks me more than anything.
As for Favre, letting football go once and for all has to be a monumentally difficult thing when you've played with such obvious passion for so many years. Some people have difficulty retiring from a job as an accountant, it must be quadrupally difficult to retire from pro sports.
And there is no one in the central who can beat the packers this year. The only team even slightly scary is Minnesota, and they have their wonderful history of squandering good seasons away.
Behold! I give you, the Viking's trophy case!

I would say his agent is the smart one ..... the best of a bad bunch of rookie QB's who should be starting for the money he is being paid.
What Would Jack Do ?

For those of you who don't want to start Ryan immediately, why? Is it because he's not "ready", and throwing him to the wolves will ruin his mojo? I don't get that because as long as you aren't throwing unnecessary expectations on him, it's not going to hurt. Even if you wait 2 seasons, if you go in there and suck you are still going to have your groove thrown off. I say give him experience when it doesn't matter if you lose or not, so that by the time it does matter, he'll be experienced. Imagine if Rogers starts the first 5 games this year with a 55% completion percentage, 5 t.d.'s and 8 interceptions. I bet there would be people calling for Brian Brohm. Tell me that isn't going to destroy his groove.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

This annoys me.

This article assumes that Favre is in fact behind the rumors, which we don't know yet. He may be, but it's only a rumor that he is spreading rumors. Premature article.

If he plays for the Vikings, we'll have something new to talk about in the random riots thread in the discussion forums. They wouldn't trade him to an NFC north team though.

It'd be awesome. If he came to the Bears I'd be psyched.

The pack won't let him out of his contract because they don't want to face him. I wouldn't let him come back, because they need to move on and see if Rogers can be their QB of the future.
Gooooo VIKINGS!
I don't want farve in a vikings jersey, but imagine how scary they would be if he was...

It would answer my internal debate of if I'm a bigger Packers fan or a bigger Favre fan. If he played for the bears or Vikings, Favre would be dead to me.

Why? If he wanted to continue playing and the team wouldn't have him...what else is he supposed to do? Nobody is wrong here. The Packers want to move on and Favre wants to play. Fans think they dictate when a player stops....they don't.

I've been a packers fan since i started watching football. My parents are from Wisconsin, so it started as a "I'm a little kid who knows nothing about football so I'll root for dad's team" type of thing. There's no rule that you can only root for teams in the state you live in.

If Favre wants to play for another team, fine. IF he plays for an NFC north team, he will be competing against the Packers, a lot. So, I would have to choose who to root for, Favvre or the Packers. That's all I'm saying.

I guess I do. The idea of Favre in purple make clear thinking difficult.

yea, seriously. los angeles doesnt have a team and has more people than some states with nfl teams.. we're all forced to like teams from out of state, or at least in another world in san diego or in the bay area
