Oh come on, it's been a little slow, but not that bad...

The first two episodes had literal toilet humor. The two most interesting characters (Doug and Conrad) have little airtime or are gone. the new direction has little humor in it and the new guy isn't very believable as a hardcore drug dealer.

Go re-watch some of season two and tell me it hasn't been pretty bad?

The show is billed and advertised as a comedy, and yet, there has been little to no comedy in it.

I'm not trying to say it's as good as it used to be. This is clearly the weakest season. I'm just saying it's not so bad that it needs to be followed by 2 girls one cup.

What if I like that sort of thing? At the very least it ismore interesting to watch, even if it is obscenely disgusting.

The eventual evolution of Family Guy will be an episode where the family are walking down a street, Peter says, "Hey, remember that time when-" and the giant chicken attacks him. And they fight for the entire episode.

Actually, Cleveland is getting his own spin-off this season...

Unfortunately this probably means that he won't be on family guy any more, which sucks.

Doesn't look like it.

From Wikipedia:

Quote

The Cleveland Show is an upcoming Americananimated series by Seth MacFarlane, a spin-off from Family Guy. The Cleveland Show will be an animated series focusing on the character of Cleveland Brown and his family as Cleveland moves from Rhode Island to Virginia.[2] His newly introduced family includes his new wife, Donna, (to be voiced by Sanaa Lathan[3]) her 16-year-old daughter, Roberta, (to be voiced by Nia Long[4]) and her 5-year-old son, Rilo. Cleveland Jr. also is in the family but is now much fatter than he appeared on Family Guy.[5][6][1][7] Cleveland's neighbors also include a family of talking anthropomorphic bears, a redneck couple (with the husband Lester to be voiced by Kevin Richardson[8]) and a British family,[2] with the husband to be voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

It sounds like one of those spin offs that doesn't work because it's trying to cash in on the original. I hope it works out, but I just don't see it working.

Dear God, please don't let this be another American Dad failure.

When I first read this I thought they were talking about Quagmire and I was wondering when the hell he got married and had a child.l This would still be a better idea that making a series based on Cleveland.

Cleveland has to be the most boring of all the characters.

American Dad isn't that bad. Not as good as Family Guy, but certainly entertaining.

You only just worked that one out? :D

I dunno, Family Guy is fine, but it's hardly... subtle. American Dad has the over-the-top slapstick humour as well, but there are more subtle jokes too.

Why can't they just bring back Futurama, that was one of the best shows ever, instead we have all these Family Guy clones.

At least Groening had an original idea when he decided to start another show.

Still two more new Futurama movies, if they do well maybe the show will get picked up again.

do webisodes (is that even a word?) count as tv?

I watched the first Dr Horrible http://www.drhorrible.com/act_I.html . Pretty funny, Neil Patrick Harris.

That's odd - I didn't like American Dad because I thought it wasn't subtle enough. It is a vehicle for McFarlane to address more political issues, but I felt he was incredibly heavy handed with it. Added to that, there was the fact that American Dad spends much longer on individual issues, whereas Family Guy constantly jumps from joke to joke, ensuring that you don't get bored. (The exception being the parody episodes like Blue Harvest) The result is that American Dad feels like a show that bashes things, where as Family Guy feels like a show that pokes fun. I prefer the latter.

I'll add that I've only seen episodes from Season 1 of American Dad, so maybe it gets better.
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Didn't realise it was made by Joss Whedon and also stars Nathan Fillion.

It's not hilarious, but its still good :D

How does McFarland's politics match up with yours? I imagine that a conservative would find the show much less funny than a liberal.
