I figured it would be handy to have one thread where any tv show can be discussed, like we have for movies. Not every show worth mentioning needs its own thread. So here goes.

Anyone watching Secret Diaries of a Call Girl on Showtime? It's on after Weeds. It's watchable, but not great. This is the timeslot Californication used to be in, and it seems that they wanted another sexy show. English call girl, has lots of sex. There's the basic plot for you.

Also just watched Help! I've been kidnapped by a Japanese Gameshow! It's more interesting than I expected. Reality show, but the twist is the people who had been expecting a normal reality show got shipped to Japan. The competitions that determine who gets eliminated each week are a part of a crazy Japanese gameshow. Pretty funny.

I don't watch much TV when it's on, but I have a lot of Box Sets. The only one recently that I followed every single week was the Apprentice. It was incredible.

As for other shows, 24 is quite simply the greatest thing to happen to TV. No contest. It rocks, and one day I will marry Jack Bauer. :p
Others I like are Prison Break, Heroes and Scrubs. Back on this side of the pond we have a lot of good comedies - Mighty Boosh, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, The Office etc.

Also, Robot Chicken, Futurama and Family Guy are good.

As for Secret Diaries, I heard about it when it was over here, thought it might be interesting, but never really followed up on it. Might look for it on streaming...

I don't know if your unsullied mind should be exposed to it. It is about a hooker, after all.

Does that mean Californication isn't coming back? I love that show.

I've been watching Fear Itself on NBC, which is a horror anthology series. Basically, every episode is standalone - new stars, new director, new writer. I'm enjoying it so far.

Watched the Leverage (new TNT show) pilot, and that was interesting. It's about a group of thieves who team up with their old nemesis, a brilliant insurance investigator who was wronged by his company, to steal from corrupt businesses/corporation. Quite good.

Californication is confirmed coming back, they're running commercials but I'm not sure when it's starting up. I'm not sure what they're going to do with it though.

Spoiler

I just love Hank's character... he's such an asshole but you can't help but like him. Writers should be able to find a fresh direction; that's what they get paid for, after all. But, yeah, you're probably on the right track...relationship will still have problems, he'll still have to deal with his wife's ex-fiance/his boss/underage daughter.

Yeah, i guess there is still plenty to deal with. His wife will find out about the underage girl, and all hell will break loose.

Did anyone feel really naughty when that girl from the Nanny got her breasts out and was riding Mulder? So wrong ... but oh so right.

I just finished watching the entire series of Chuck, which was nice. A funny show.

Not much really on at the moment, I saw a new season of weeds has turned up, but to be honest season 3 to me felt like it had gone on long enough.

Burn Notice starts in a couple of weeks. About a week after that Monk and Psych start new episodes. I love USA Network in the Summer.

My TV guilty pleasure: My Boys on TBS. That chick is so hot, and she's a baseball writer who loves playing poker and drinking. What more could a guy ask for?

They saw that it had gone on long enough as things were, so they're in a prety new situation now. It's a different show. Still worth watching.

I've never watched Dexter, but want to. I refuse to watch it on network though, it seems like the type of show that would lose something in the translation.

There's not shit on tv tonight.

Dexter is fantastic. The DVDs are well worth the asking.

I'll have to look into weeds again.

I watched Fringe last night. Freaking awesome. I can't wait till it starts up

Gah! I've really grown to loathe all things Flava Flav in the last few years.

Actually, if you have a reality show on VH1, chances are I now curse your existence.

Hogan knows the rock of love, Brett Michaels, went to celebrity fat camp and was tutored by the pick-up artist, but a little too much flavor of love ended with him having Scott Baio's baby, the anal birth of which sent him in spiraling into an alcohol-fueled depression and landed him in celebrity rehab. Dr Drew beat the demons out of him with the help of Danny Bonaduce, and it was then met and he fell in love with New York.

The roast is still funny, even though Flav himself is not very entertaining.

Top Gear is genius. Just watched the first episode of the new series... It's brilliant, and the police car challenge was so freaking funny!
