I've just seen that Amazon are reputedly beginning to create a live action Mass Effect show. There are so many ways this can go horribly wrong but they did a great job with Fallout so who knows?
It's one of my all time favourite game franchises so I'll watch it regardless.

Incidentally a new synth inspired by Mass Effect is on flash sale for 30 euro today (ends at 1000 GMT on the 9th).
Porphyra Hybrid - Ocean Swift Synthesis
Runs in the free Kontakt Player. Lots of samples and wavetables. Bit tempted but I'm going to hold my powder dry for Black Friday proper (they're trying to get in right before most of the big sales and pressure people into blowing some of their Black Friday / holiday budget).
Personally I've never played the games but I'll probably watch the tv series.

I posted here when I watched it that for anyone who had a funky family, that episode is triggering. My sister had to turn it off.
Side note that I loathe the word 'triggering' and hate myself for using it. It's used so often by people describing mild discomfort. So you've got bad memories, fuck off. Let people with really bad backstories keep the word for themselves.
Anyway, I came here because I keep reading reviews for really good TV shows and am then disappointed that it is on a platform that I don't have. So now when I see a review, I skim the top or bottom paragraph to see what platform it is on and if I don't have it, I don't read it. But it's rubbish to have no access to good stuff when there is so much crap about. I can't be bothered with the life admin of cycling my subscriptions around.
Modern living is hard.

Nothing brand new, but I watched the two seasons of Kevin Can F#$% Himself since it got added to Netflix here. Great show! Cancelled too early. So early that they had time to retool S2 enough to give it a real finale, so silver linings.
Oh I guess I did watch something brand new, too: English Teacher on FX (or HULU is how I saw it). As far as workplace sitcoms set in schools go, I like Abbott Elementary more (and still miss my dearly departed AP Bio), but this was pretty solid too. Very funny cast, kind of a too-brief season though at only 8 episodes. Hope it comes back.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Recently watched this as well, very enjoyed it. The cast is exceptional, they go all in on performances that should be ridiculous even by sitcom standards and just sell it. S2 hasn't been confirmed but the ratings were very strong so odds are good.

Just Finished SCAVENGER'S REIGN. I very enjoyed this. The story was mostly straightforward move from A to B, but the setting was just a joy to watch, the characters were well developed, the sense of wonder was there and the action beats were engaging. The showrunner is shopping S2 around, i hope he succeeds.

Why are you people not watching ARCANE Season 2? It's peak animated TV for 2024.

Sir, you have been REMISS! Season 1 is solid, but it's also such great setup for the mindfuck that happens in S2 (so far).
A treat you are in for.

ARCANE....fuck me.
Just finished ep 6 of S2 and I'm about ready to call this the BEST animated show made in North America in the last decade, possibly more.
The animation is next level gorgeous. You can feel every last cent of the budget on the screen. Every single shot....no lie....every single shot is worthy of a painting.
But the thing that's made this such a phenomenon is the storytelling, the writing. I'm trying to think of something that even comes close...certain eps of Vox Machina, maybe? But even then, ARCANE is playing on a completely different field. The intricacies, the human relationships, the emotions....like multiple episodes have brought me to tears...and others have made my pump my fist in the air, and others have dropped my jaw at revelations.
I will be buying this as a two season BluRay set when it comes out...it's shelf worthy and I want to watch it again and again and pick up details I missed.
If you are not watching this, you should be. If you plan on watching this but haven't? RECTIFY THAT...the second and final season ends this Saturday with the final 3 eps dropping, so you have no excuses. If you don't have any interest in this show, then I pity you for avoiding prestige storytelling and animation that punches you in the face.

100% Agreed, it's not just one of the best animated shows ever made, it's hands down one of the best TV shows ever made.
Man, I watched eps 5 & 6 last night... absolutely amazing though ep 6 broke me.
Spoiler
Every single frame is hand animated and you can tell that it is.
I am just gutted it is coming to an end this weekend. Can't wait to see what they have planned next in the LoL universe.

I think it was actually made in France (and possibly also Spain):

The series was produced with and animated by Fortiche, a French animation and creative production studio based in Paris, Montpellier and Las Palmas (Spain) that has worked with Riot on various videos for its champions in the past.

Or at least that's where the animation was probably done, IDK about the voice acting. Quick skim of a long article did not provide a clear answer.
The Making of Arcane. An Interview With Alexis Wanneroy
There's also a free five-part documentary on Youtube about the making of it, maybe they say it explicitly somewhere in there. The third installment shows the actors recording dialogue, but the part I watched doesn't say where they're located, could of course be recorded remotely and then sent to Fortiche:
