Oh man Lucifer Ep 2 was just as fun as 1. I'm down with this show. Funny

I would argue that the first episode was good, but the second was great step forward. While I enjoyed the first episode I admittedly wasn't entirely sold on it. But if the show continues with the same level shown in episode 2, I'll definitely watch it till the end.

I wasn't sold on ep1 but after watching the second ep, that is me now signed up to the show, this could be a very fun watch!

On Ep 2 of Colony and I'm struggling not to stop and erase it. Boring as fuck. Anyone else?

Caught part of the premier and then dvr'd a repeat of it to watch it properly. Only made it about 15 minutes and we had to pause it for something and just couldn't be bothered to go back for the rest. Like Defiance, they try bring us in post alien invasion. Unlike Defiance, I found little to nothing interesting in the little I saw.

Going to see how ep3 delivers but if it doesn't improve am going to drop this show - the doctor from Prison Break annoyed me when I used to watch that show and she has taken up the same role in this show, there is just something about her that grinds on me.

RE: Magicians

I'm not really digging the show. If I hadn't read the books then maybe I'd like it but I'm constantly like "that wasn't in the book." It would be different if they changed stuff for the better but they're not. I may keep watching but I'm not looking forward to next week like I do with the Expanse or Game of Thrones.

RE: Sherlock
About a year ago I made a statement on here praising Elementary and y'all blasted me saying the BBC Sherlock blew it away. Well, I just finished watching the series and now I feel stupid for ever having put them in the same sentence. Sherlock is one of the best shows I've ever seen. As in ever. And only a few shows are on that list. I'm having a hard time following it. Any suggestions on what to watch after Sherlock? My dad recommended the Imitation Game but it's a movie and like a single crack rock for a crackhead - I'm looking for a crack boulder.

Haha yes! Glad you loved it. As for something that compares? Tough, really. I'd watch something so vastly different that you don't find yourself getting annoyed that it isn't as good...

If you've not watched it yet, I'd try out BBC's LUTHER (starring Idris Elba). Luther himself is a BIT like Sherlock. He's a brilliant, analytical, break-the-rules cop with mental issues, and a temper.

Sidenote about its creator: Neil Cross, has worked for/with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss (SHERLOCK's creators) on DOCTOR WHO, and is ABOUT as clever with his plotlines.

Did you watch the most recent episode of Sherlock that aired at the beginning of January? https://en.wikipedia...bominable_Bride

QT I love Luther but for some reason have only seen S1 & S2... It's on both iPlayer and Netflix over here so I don't really have an excuse...

In other news I am slowly making my way through Breaking Bad, and am now on S4 about halfway through. Intense stuff!

You should really watch S3 and 4. S3 is great throughout, and S4 (which is just a 2hour special) is good (thought not QUITE as mind-bendy as the previous seasons are).

I don't see why they have to - and I quite like the books.

Biggest difference is that Quentin is much, much more likable. Every main cast member is - which is different from what Grossman gave us in the books.

No issues with them deviating from the books, tho I think

was... debatable. A little too we're trying to be Harry Potter with magicsex.

It was made pretty clear that the paramedic wants all of the kids to be strong magicians, while still having Quentin's mostly useless self be important even among the handful of new students to the paramedic.

The paramedic even flat out says Quentin isn't a chosen one or super smart or particularly powerful, he's what tool she needs to use in the near future.

One issue I do have is the insta-acceptance into the Physical House. The break-in was one of my favorite moments in the books.

Don't feel too bad. At least you didn't start a thread here singing the praises of Elementary and asking if anyone else liked it, like I did! In my defense, I was not even aware of the BBC Sherlock. While no one blasted me, most pointed out that they couldn't get into Elementary because Sherlock was so much better. I've gotten into S2 of Sherlock and everyone is right; it is Supremely better. I need to get all the way caught up but I'm on my own in being so into the Sherlock Holmes theme so its tougher to get the tv solo.

The 100. Last nights show just confirmed in my mind how stupid the City of Light arc is. The episode had NONE of it in it and it was damn good and my fav of S3 so far. CoL is bunk.

We are at around ep 11 of S2, and they've only talked about it so far. Jaha mentions it a few times, and it seems to be implied that once they get done taking down Mt. Weather and getting their people out, that the CoL is the next step. I'm interested to know what it is. Jaha, a few people and Murphy just left the Lander to head to the CoL...so maybe this splits them from the Mt. Weather crew?

As for what we've watched thus far.

I didn't want to say anything since QT is enjoying the ride up but I was not impressed with the first 2 eps of this season and was afraid the show might be going downhill already. This episode had my attention and had my brain trying to figure out where they were going with it. I'll hold discussion of the City of Light thing till QT catches up, since it'll probably be soon...

I said to my wife and daughter while watching S3 ep3 tonight that, I cannot believe it but Octavia might be my favorite character right now. I would never have believed that possible not so long ago.

There is a BBC show called RIVER, which is about yet another detective who is brilliant but has 'issues'. I don't really want to say what his issues are in this case since it might be better to come at the series completely fresh. But it's very well made, and quite different from most of the other series out there.

Anyway, the main detective is played by Stellan Skarsgård, who does a fantastic job (as usual in my opinion). The series was broadcast by the BBC in the UK, and by Netflix internationally I think.

I am a big fan of the BBC series LUTHER as well. Season 2 in particular is fantastic.

Since SHERLOCK is so unique in terms of style and tone, it's hard to think of what else would be similar enough to recommend. Those other BBC shows are very well made but lack the comedic side of Sherlock.

Do you agree that the lack of CoL made for a 100% better Ep, or do you like that arc?

What they gave us of the CoL arc in the premier was pretty intriguing to me. But its not gone much of anywhere since then and we've only been given the tiniest of hints at what causes

I just thought the quality was better all around the last episode. I wasn't able to guess everything that was coming but I didn't hate where they went either. The absence of Jaha and the CoL arc may have helped, though...

Magicians Episode 3 was quite good.

They are accelerating/compressing things in the books with considerable success. I wonder why the rush is in place - perhaps to spend more time in Fillory.

The set design/location continues to be wonderful. The actors - every single one of them - are very good to great at their roles.

Amazing how Syfy turned Sharknado $ into Expanse and Magicians (and more Sharknado).

Even though I think that looks boring, it is fantasy and doesn't look too low budget. While it's not for me, I can definitely see it finding its niche (people love their western vigilantes).

I'm really liking Stan Lee's Lucky Man. Intriguing plot line and James Nesbitt.
