Just discovered the E4 show DRIFTERS, and watched two episodes. Really funny stuff! Worth a look (I think they are in series 2 now).

I saw some of this last night. And just, no! I couldn't find anything appealing about it; nowhere near the quality of Inbetweeners. I found it awkward rather than funny.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The first ep was rough, but eps 2 and 3 were much more fluid and funny I thought.

How to get away with murder started off pretty damn great for the 1st 3 epi or so. To me it has gone downhill after that. It's become REALLY predictable and Soap Opariey.

I expected soapy from Shonda (Greys Anatomy) Rimes, so I didn't even bother with it. :(

Well I've watched Scandal since epi 1 and while it's about love the politics outshined everything. However this last Season of that felt very Soapy for the 1st time to me. I ll watch Scandal till its last epi but Murder will prob be skipped next season.

This!! I, also, have watched Scandal from the beginning with my wife, who loves the chemistry between Olivia and the Pres. That part of it has been mostly tolerable till this season. While I know for a fact that there can be very intense chemistry between people, the fact that she completely broke free of him and allowed herself to be pulled back in to an impossible situation, well, for a woman as sharp as she is supposed to be, I can't buy it. Sooner or later, everyone learns that some people/relationships are just bad for you, chemistry or not. I told my wife I'm not going out of my way to watch it anymore; she's on her own. I didn't realize How to Get Away was Shonda Rimes as well. I didn't make it past ep 2 of that one.

I bought my iTunes seasons pass for STAR WARS REBELS, and caught up to the 5th episode. Really digging the vibe of this show. Disney is winning with their first outing of the SW property post-Lucasfilm purchase. The animation style being a mix of THE CLONE WARS and Ralph McQaurrie's orignal concept art for the OT....just so lovely. The storytelling is nice, lilnear and doesn't seem to jump around as much as TCW tended to do (that's not a complaint about TCW...it kind of HAD to jump around telling the stories of a prolonged war), and it has a much more OT feel to it.

Kanan having been a 14 y/o Knight at the time of Order 66 and survived gives him a nice edge and past. The character roster is solid, and Jason Isaccs absolutely owns as The Inquisitor.

A few specific things I loved:

spoilered up to Ep 5

Spoiler

In the end, a great show so far and well worth it for SW fans.

Production on CONSTANTINE halted at 13 episodes. The suits say it's not cancelled and is a strong contender for a second season order...but yeah, dropping the episode count doesn't exactly sound good.

At least I wasn't watching.

That's a shame, because it's been showing potential. Let it fly, execs, let it fly!

Dropping the episode count midway through isn't good. However if they did come back next season with a 12-13 episode order already confirmed, I'd way prefer that. So many network shows still have their quality crippled by the needs of stretching out a plot over 22 episodes. Hannibal does short seasons and it works wonders.

Rebels has surprised me how much I've liked it considering I thought CW was unnecessary typical GL changing his mind on the spot fucking up the story to make $ GARBAGE!

I know you didn't watch all of TCW, but the last few seasons including the Lost Missions Season 6...there is some absolutely phenomenal, phenomenal character work and some brilliant turns of plot. I think Ahsoka and Bariss Offee especially get incredible, characters arcs, all of which is worth watching. S1-3 are kind of meh with a few great eps scattered in...but from about S4-6 it's pretty much all gold.

That said, if you continue to watch REBELS and enjoy it...I have a feeling that some of the flashbacks they will inevitably do might make you curious to go back.

A couple of things we need to guess on:

Ezra's parentage: Got to be at least one force sensitive in the couple...and possibly two...survived Jedi? Ventress?

Kanan's survival of Order 66: That's going to make for some amazing storyline flashbacks...I mean a 14 year old Jedi Knight/padawan (we don't know what rank he was at the time of the Purge) surviving the purge? Who was his Master? Where did they go? How did he survive? UPDATE: There is a prequel comic coming for Kanan called The Last Padawan (and apparently the fact that he was a Padawan still during the Purge is in the NEW DAWN prequel book to REBELS)...and though I missed it The Inquisitor in Ep 3 said out loud during their fight that Kanan's master was Master Depa Billiba, who is one of the only people to have ever trained directly under Mace Windu as a padawan. The comic seems to indicate (if the cover is any judge) that she is at least partly responsible for Kanan's survival in the immediate after math of Order 66...though for how long we don't know. And she is seen briefly in RotS apparently as well.

Bail's raising of Leia: I think it's safe to assume she will show up eventually on the show...as will possibly her brother. Both would be Ezra's age, as he was also born the day the Clone Wars ended, like they were.

The Inquisitor backstory: Where did he come from? I keep coming back to him being a turned Jedi...but I'm unsure. He knows at least enough about Jedi lore and training to scold Kanan for not having taught Ezra even the basics.

EDIT: Chopper is hilariously a dickhead robot.

And I love that both Zeb and Ezra ask (upon seeing The Inquisitors Lightsaber do it's spinning thing) Kanan "Does yours do that?" LOL

I was, and wasn't loving it. Four eps in and I keep waiting for awesome and just getting 'almost but not quite'.

I won't weep.

I've been enjoying Grimm more, and that's saying something.

Agreed, so utterly agreed. I`ll take 13 epic eps over 22 meh (or more typically 2 great, 10 meh, the balance somewhere in the middle) every time.

I`m enjoying it, far more than I expected to.

...even Chopper who is basically a running joke for the kiddie viewers. R2-ADD2, if you will.

I'm glad GL isn't at the helm anymore cause im sure he would just make Ezra the secret triplet that we never knew about *cough Asoka(being Anakins apprentice out of the blue just for the sake of making $).

Ahsoka was the next step for Anakin apparently. In ATOC he is a brash, unruly padawan that even Obi-Wan can't reign in...so GL and the Clone Wars writers created her as a bridge to the Anakin we saw in RotS, the more thoughtful Jedi Knight. She's his tempering stone.

How far did you get in TCW BK?

Yeah I skipped out early on CW also. But one day I was home sick and decided to cherry-pick the later seasons on Netflix. They are actually not bad and there are even a few gut-punch moments.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

S1 and S2 are mostly "meh"...and even S3 succumbs to a lot of "meh" moments too...but S4-6 are really worth it. You could even just go watch those three seasons and ignore the previous ones...you won't miss anything really significant that I can think of.

Yeah, some of the deaths and events that happen late in the series are heart rending. There is one speech given by Yoda at a funeral event that had me near tears.

I loved that scene with Luminara and Anakin where she asks him if he's strong enough to let his apprentice go when her times might come to ascend to Knight...and the look of pain in Anakin's face is palpable. He literally NEEDS his Snips. As Obi-Wan's general duties keep him increasingly away from Anakin, the friendship with Ahsoka keeps him afloat.

That means you missed the totally awesome Maul/Savage story arc taking over the Death Watch and Mandalore. That was a truly fucking awesome story.

Damn A&e dropped it???

Yeah, it was their 2nd most watched show and they canceled it because it wasn't drawing the age demographic they wanted, basically.

Just finished watching the tv series of Fargo.

Best thing I've seen since Breaking Bad. I like the way it was made to be a single season too, as there wasn't the safety net of knowing who was going to be returning.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
