got up midway through season 4 of babylon 5 and... it's such an awesome show. probably the second best in history (I mean, come on, there's no beating The Wire). So far,

OK so Luther is pretty awesome.

I know we don't have a proper thread for it (as I'm not sure how many folk watch it here), but I am fucking PALPABLY excited for Sunday night's Series 4 premiere of DOWNTON ABBEY.

I'll watch on ITV Player on Monday night (as I usually do with DOWNTON), glass of wine in hand, and wearing my t-shirt (It says Mary & Edith & Sybill & Cora...yes, I'm aware I'm a nerd).

Let me be the first to strongly suggest you watch to the end of S4 and then stop. Ignore S5. Watch the made-for-tv movies (THIRDSPACE, IN THE BEGINNING, that other one) if you must, but IGNORE S5!!!! Also probably CRUSADE and that Rangers show.

FOX's new show Dads, with Seth Green, was f'ing brutal. 30 minutes and nary a chuckle. I'll give it one more ep.



Brooklyn 9 9 on the other hand, was pretty damn funny.



I had reservations about Sleepy Hollow, but the first episode got me interested. Has potential to be some good supernatural stuff.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Based on all the buzz a recent episode got, we decided to Netflix the pilot ep of BREAKING BAD.

Best. TV. Pilot. Ever.

We've already burned through most of S1.

SLEEPY HOLLOW.

Saw the premiere. Way more fun than i was expecting it to be. Ocri and Kurzman probably hammered way more plot groundwork

in than they needed, but even so this worked really well. Didn't hurt that the leads Ichabod and Abby were both nailing the performances. I'm in for at least the next few eps, and seeing as how the same team made FRINGE, likely longer.

DOWNTON ABBEY series 4 opener was just as excellent as I'd hoped it would be! Opening up a number of new plot threads, and closing off some old ones.

The best thing I noticed... Spoilers for S3 events...

For sure. And Shawn Ryan and Vince Gilligan should work together. I don't know if they actually have a relationship, but the influence seems as strong as Joss Whedon --> Rob Thomas to me (moreso than say, Chris Carter, whose influence I don't see much of at all on Breaking Bad).

Watched the two-hour opener of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER final season.

We met the mother and it's official as in the first ep Sagat's voiceover says "And that's how your Aunt Lily met your mother" (she meets her first) and Ted hits alternating notes to his kids about "remember how your mother does this..." when she lies to the camera about stuff.

It's a decent two-parter and since the whole season will take place over 3 days times (Barney and Robin's wedding in Farhampton) I'll be interested to see where they find all their stories...

I don't know about ratings problems, but they've had show sucking problems. Last season was mostly brutal. But the season premier was pretty good, so I'm hoping this last season is more like the previous seasons.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I know we're way behind but Mrs Tiste & I just finished watching S4 of Dexter. Flipping heck that was a chilling, heart wrenching and generally outstanding finale! I don't know whether to start straight on with S5 or give it a bit of a break!! (We are somewhat in shock here!) For those who have seen it but forgotten what happens:

Unfortunately S5 is where I quit. I enjoyed all four first seasons to one degree or another, and that S4 finale was a particular joy to watch, but I instantly disliked S5 and couldn't get through much of it before I had to jump ship. Hopefully you have a better time of it than I did.

Funny,S5 was one of my favorites. Great baddie, interesting developments for Dex, less of the padding that bugged me in earlier , and some later, seasons.
