Got BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Remastered complete set BluRay from my in-laws for my Bday, so I dove right into them (109 episodes plus movies Mask Of The Phantasm and Sub-Zero), and man this show is just my own childhood injected into my eyeballs. And the remaster is GORGEOUS visual and sound wise. Looks like Bruce Timm made it yesterday. Clean, bright, and un-muddy, while maintaining the "noir" shadows and general air of the show. Only through three eps so far, but man it's hitting all the right buttons.

Every so often a highlight from that series show up in my youtube feed. I end up spending about an hour going down that wormhole each time. So bummed it is not on Netflix.

I was tempted to find a way to rewatch it, but once I'd learned it had been remastered completely for the BluRay release, I decided I could not watch it in any other way, so I made sure to remember it when my Bday came around. It was around $98 including tax on Amazon for the standard (non-deluxe) edition. For over 55 hours of content, that's a steal and worth it if you have the spare funds.

Aw man, looks like they removed it from Amazon Prime late last year specifically because of the Blu Ray release. So blame QT for lack of options! (JK, it's probably mostly because it's on DC Universe - and is apparently HD on there - but the niche-ifying of streaming sure sucks).

Anyone watched RUSSIAN DOLL on Netflix? Just finished it and really enjoyed it. There's a lot going on that I don't think I got and I imagine a rewatch would open up elements of it.

I'm on Netflix-time with this show, so I just finished The Magicians Season 3. Best one so far! Everyone's still a navel-gazer or a jerk, but that was one fun quest. And Margo and Elliot are the best.

Agreed, usually if the characters are jerks I don't really enjoy the show...but The Magicians is so much fun. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Started watching (since YouTube shifted it out from behind the Premium paywall and it's all free now) COBRA KAI...and DAMN it's great! Only 3 eps in, but what an interesting and well done way to continue the story 34 years after the fact. William Zabka and Ralph Macho are both wonderful in their reprised roles!

In other news, anyone watch Tidying up with Marie Kondo on Netflix? I guess it's all the rage. I've seen her on a few talk shows now and she's just the sweetest little Japanese woman. I think I'm falling in love *eyelash flutters *shy

I don't get the rage. Her entire bit amounts to 'throw away your extra crap'.

She doesn't even set a specific threshold for things to keep or throw away. It's a method of forcing a person to engage with what they have, figure out if it gives them happiness to have, and decide how to keep it.
The biggest tips I've gotten from her show:
- if this is something you're not used to, doing the most emotionally charged items last is the best idea because you develop the skill of finding out what gives you joy by doing everything else and the emotions of the last done items can be met with improved skill, rather than overwhelm the nascent skill.
- If you can't put things in a chest, get cheap shelving and put things in boxes on the shelves, as that leads to better organization.
- Throw out everything in a room/category that you're going to throw out before turning to the issues of storage of the remainder.
- In the kitchen drawers, get trays for inside the drawers and store things by their relative sizes rather than purpose of item. This system actually works so well that it's revolutionized our kitchen area.

And with episode 5, DC’s TITANS may have just become my favorite not animated superhero tv show ever.

YUUUUUUP.
We just passed episode Epsiode 8, which features
Spoiler
The funny thing is that I would have put this on the list of shows I didn't give a CHANCE before it aired...and now it's easily one of the best.

I was certain... CERTAIN... this was going to be crap, especially given my utter loss of interest in the Arrowverse and pretty much all of marvel's tv product...
Finished ep 4 last last night and gloried in a wholly fun tv version of
Spoiler
and stayed up later to watch 5.
Spoiler
Would have gone for 6 based on that cliffhanger end hook
Spoiler
but my traitorous eyes wouldn't cooperate.
TV so rarely surprises me any more that this is such a treat to watch.

That episode is a TREAT....

I'm curious what he denouement will be when Kory finds out who she is and where she's from. That should be interesting.
It's also funny to watch this show knowing it's shot in Toronto...and pick out all the landmarks.

Finished this last night. The first 2.5 episodes are a little rocky. Natasha Lyonne is great and carries you through em, naturally, but I found some of it annoying (in a very New York hipster hedonist kinda way, sure, but also because some of the writing is stagey). After the revelation at the end of ep 3 though, the show really has a bump in quality and interest that lasts the whole rest of the way. Overall very worth it, if you can power through that hit and miss first hour.

Looking fwd to the Robin story... i spoiled myself a while back so i knew it was coming, just not when.
They seem to be tying Kori to Rachel's back story.
I assume they're still going with 'alien princess' but not the 'sister exiles her she escapes' thing the comic did.
I've spotted at least one apartment bldg i've lived in.

In like episode 2 when you see Dick tear ass out of Wayne Manner in one of Bruce's sports cars, it's literally the long laneway beside the Better Living Centre down off Strachan, inside the Prince's Gates, which makes me giggle a bit. Stately Wayne Manor is down by....Medieval Times!
