Is anyone going to try Black Lightning? I have Ep 1 on dvr but have almost zero desire to watch it at present. That stupid show Legends of Tomorrow has me leery about CW hero shows.

The costume is so bad I just can’t.

You may be interested to hear I just started S4 of DS9. So far I love it, and it seems like the writing has gotten sharper and the actors have upped their game too. The Visitor is one of the best ST episodes of any iteration.

You don't have to spoiler them if it's a pain, cuz you've been marking them w/ the episode you're on anyway so I've had no trouble not spoiling myself.

And yah, Tony Todd! I always recognize him cuz he's The Candyman! Perfect casting, too, since he has such a resonant voice like Avery Brooks but he also actually looks like a grown up Jake might look!

That whole episode felt just like a really good stage play, but with all the sci fi stuff thrown in.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Finished Daredevil season 2. Glad i went back and watched it after being underwhelmed by season 1 (basically just because i wanted to watch The Punisher). Still not anywhere near a DD fan. And the character often falls flat for me. But Punisher, Scott Glenn, and parts of Elektra made the season pretty good.

Started The Punisher. Bernthal is phenomenal as Frank Castle. Only 2.5 episodes in so far, but this by far my favorite and imo, the best Marvel TV show by a wide margin. Apart from maybe the first half of DD season 2. But thats solely because of the Punisher, so i'm just lumping it together. I know people love Jessica Jones, and the parts of it i've seen are good, but if has the fatal flaw of "I cant stand the actress who plays the JJ".

Long story short...Punisher awesome.

Watched the first ep. It was... Weird! But pretty good. They have a lot going on with the Druids and they don't spoon-feed anything so it took a while to really work out what was going on and there are some pretty surreal sequences and characters. However it's great acting, there's lots of nice violence and even a couple of shots with some boobs on display (nothing like GoT though so not too explicit or gratuitous) so it's got lots going for it!

I'm definitely going to keep watching

Ok I don’t drink but I love these new Bud Lite commercials!!

Just had a new one in which war breaks out and it’s a to be continued ad. Hopefully the 2nd half comes on during Vikings game and not held back to Super Bowl.

Marvel's Runaways... three eps in, far far better than I was expecting.

Finished the ten ep season, very happy to see this got a S2 because despite the to-be-expected decline into CW-level teen crushlovesex silliness roughly once per ep, it was actually very well done.

If you're familiar with the comic source material, they deviate pretty hard from it. The characters are all there and close to their originals, but the story places almost equal emphasis on the parents, and rather than deep dive into superhero territory with the kids on the run immediately, the season navigates around the parents' plots and the kids trying to figure out wtf is happening. Also, telepathic velociraptor.

Fun action scenes, generally witty dialogue, the plot advances, and the writers are to be commended for keeping all the individual storylines intersecting, rather than just spinning each kid or two into their own self-contained story.

Overall, this was fun comic-tv. No connections to any other Marvel-TV stuff, and better for it (tho I have a suspicion S2 may change that).

I watched the first episode of Counterpart, and I'm hooked. JK Simmons crushes it.

Nice little revelation in the last 5 minutes, no? I imagine if/when it is discovered, it will have a major effect.

Try Dark. (the Netflix show). Its fantastic!

Yeah, I'm wondering why the untruth was necessary.

Yah -- it'll be a while before I get that far, but I am getting through DS9 faster than I did TNG. It's so interesting to me that TOS, TNG, and DS9's captains are all clearly accomplished, trained stage actors (even as much as Shatner gets made fun of), and fully bring their sensibilities into the roles rather than tampering them down, yet they're so different from one another too.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
