Yah I watched it Friday night. It's light years ahead of the first two NBC productions. There's a bit of anticlimax with the witch (though the performance is great) but that tends to be true with all versions imo.

Anyone watching QUANTICO? Have a few episodes saved up, but haven't got around to watching them yet. It's strange to not have heard any opinions on the show either good or bad so far. Is it just that..... meh? Saw the pilot and thought it looked ok, but I could easily see it turn to crap by trying to be too clever and having twists and turns everywhere to try and keep people guessing.

Any opinions?

I had the same thought. They got Mary J Blige, gave her one song, and approximately 3 minutes of stage time.

Not sure what to cut, but Tin Man's What Would I Do If I Could Feel isn't quite essential - or somehow rearrange Slide Me Some Oil to incorporate the same concepts.

I really liked seeing the snippets of popular dances in the choreography. I could identify about six or seven of them, and I'm sure I'm missing out on a bunch. (Beyonce's Single Ladies walk for the poppy girls, the quan, the nae nae and more)

Been binge watching Asiz Ansari's Netflix show MASTER OF NONE...and it's completely addictive and amazing! Really funny, well crafted, and topical,

I have mixed feelings about Master of None, as a Nepali American guy who just hit 30 and has dealt with some pf the things Aziz has.

Couldn't help but compare it to Louie and it doesn't do well in that comparison, even with our shared experiences.

Anyone watching Childhoods End on SyFy? I've never read book but after watching it for an hour it's like a mix(at 1st) of ID4 and V minus the Lizard race(so far). Charles Dance(Tywin Lannister in GoT) is voicing the alien. It's been slow and strange so far.

I'm avoiding it until all 3 eps drop. I haven't read it in ages but I remember enough that I'm hoping they won't destroy it.

It's Arthur C. Clarke. Wrote some of the best SF out there.

The 2nd season finale of MANHATTAN (a show I KEEP telling you all to watch, but obviously no one is...even though it's one of the best shows on TV) was absolutely amazing from start to finish.

And setting the ending...

Spoiler

I'm going to be really upset if the show isn't allowed to go to a 3rd season as Shaw has said that all the most interesting stuff he wants to tell comes next.

And basically John Benjamin Hickey has pretty much moved into my top 5 fave actors of all time. His performance is a revelation.

Gah! So much good TV these days and so little time to watch it. I guess as long as it all comes to Netflix eventually I'll get around to seeing them.

When I retire. :p

EDIT:

Just watched the Lucifer pilot. 'Twas good cheesy fun. Just as long as it doesn't get too family-friendly.

Bloodline was quite nice (the Netflix show). It's a well acted, completely deranged story about a ne'er do well brother coming back to a big South Florida family and how the roiling secrets in the background come to light. Mixes the present with the past and flash-forwards, so the story's fixed points are vaguely known and things are made clearer as we meander along the season and the path between the past, the present, and the flash-forwards.

I think they could have put in a bit more interactions between the Rayburns and the people of the town/area, but overall, it works because every single actor makes it work.
