Re: Doctor Who it took a few episodes before a good one. But there have been some REALLY good ones so far.

I kinda like the new Constantine show. Only seen two episodes of it, but I'll come back to it.

Right now, on episode 6 of Orphan Black - which promises to be as full of nuttery as possible.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Agreed. (Shit, weird things happen when PG and I agree historically) Easily the best one yet.

Pros:

Little-to-no Fish (Jada Pinkett)

Gordon FINALLY does something about those mobster guys trying to strongarm him, shoots one AND kicks him in the head....wrangles his off-kilter partner Harvey into line...and then has the nutsack to try to arrest both the mayor AND Falcone!

More Penguin excellence, and a twist I wasn't expecting.

All around great stuff, and the best the writing has been so far.

I agree with you BK. But tbh the show is plateauing for me at "okay". I did like the cartoon/comic booky bomb. Liked the cordon of nuns but hated the truck stopping just in time. Talk about zero suspense. I think maybe a moving vehicle stopping just in time is my single most hated cliche. There's still the Penguin, Bullock, and glimmers of interesting ideas throughout though.

Edit: Wanna add that Fish's main enforcer is actually really great in his role too.

There wasn't anything wrong per se, they just decided they could do more interesting things with someone who wasn't totally knew to the world to carry around. The second episode, despite being blatant filler put together quickly to introduce her replacement, Zed, is imo instantly more engaging for her presence, especially her ability to answer back to John.

Carrying a little lost sheep like that just isn't Constantine's style.

Watched the entirety of Black Mirror over the last couple of days. Flipping heck but that is a disturbing show. Excellently done, well written and cast, but it doesn't half make you uncomfortable (and yeah, that's the point of the show but still!)

Highly recommended. Also, they are all standalone episodes, so you don't need to watch them in order. Plus there's only 6 so it shouldn't take too long to watch.

DVR'd Too Many Cooks airing on Cartoon Network during Adult Swim. I wanted to know what all the hype was about. Adult Swim, you have outdone yourself. Too Many Cooks requires more then one viewing.

Also, about Adult Swim. The 3rd season of The Eric Andre Show premiered last week. It's still as messed up as ever. Seth Rogan and porn star Asa Akira were the guests. And the show closed with Exhumed and The Supremes performing at the same time.

The second season of The Fall (with Gillian Anderson) started yesterday on the BBC. The first one was a masterpiece in tension and creepyness, and this first episode was no different. Really good show.

Got ze gf hooked on Supernatural, she's like halfway through Season 5 by now. Wondrous times, I also get to recap. Yay!

Just discovered the E4 show DRIFTERS, and watched two episodes. Really funny stuff! Worth a look (I think they are in series 2 now).
