Is Intelligence a serial or episodic? It sounds interesting, but I'm pretty full up on episodics these days...

I'm catching up on SCANDAL. The Mrs is totally hooked on it, to the extent she agreed to re-watch the entire series with me to get me caught up. I'm mostly through Season 2. While the episode-level plots aren't that great IMO, there is a series arc that is really fascinating, and they just keep throwing curveballs at you.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Hmm 2nd ep of Intelligence was really fucking good I thought. It may require its own thread if it's that good next week...
Agreed. Kept my attention, which i wasn't sure it would.

Classic network episodic so far. Some underlying uber-plots but they're not falling into the trap of trying too hard too early, two eps in.

Holy shit this show Bitten on SyFy is horrible. I'm struggling to make it through ep 2. Cheap twilight rip with werewolves.
One of my good friends, AND my sister-in-law to be....both LOVE the book series (Kelley Armstrong)....but man the show is a slow, slow burn that we can't seem to get into.
Which sucks, cause we met the cast at Comic Con, and they were all really nice to chat with, and seemed genuinely excited about the show.
I'm giving it a few more eps before bailing..but for now I'm very MEH about it.

Got caught up with the latest episode of Community. Oh man, if you guys aren't watching, you are doing yourself a disservice. Dan Harmon is back and season 5 has been superb. The most recent episode "Community: Lava World" was amazing and sad. Sad because it was the send off Troy Barnes (played by Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino). New episode tonight!

Anyone else watching BBCs musketeers?
I've Iplayered the first two episodes, unsure if I want to go for the rest,a distintly average offering, but I cant help feeling its going to get better if down a somewhat predictable route.

We are house/dog sitting for the InLaws for February, and the Mrs. Mum has Netflix and Apple TV...I don't have Netflix (yet)....but I've been pleastantly surprised with the library so far (watched some IT CROWD, which is hilarious). Watched a few movies. Solid enough for me to want an acct when we return home.
But here is admission time. As a long time Joss Whedon fan, I had never actually watched FIREFLY before.
Yep. I know.
But I watched the first few eps on Netflix so far...and now I TOTALLY get why the fanbase is so altogether ravenous. This show is badass. It's very Star Wars-y, and I can't find any fault with dialogue of story choices It's just solid television through and through.
I'm also going to be catching up on HOUSE OF CARDS, and ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.

Awesome. I wonder what the differences are between US and CA Instant libraries.

The gulf between them used to be wider (I think at the beginning CAN Netflix was 7,500 titles and USA was 20,000)...but it's closer now, and CAN gets big run movies before USA.
But for example, I don't get SoA up here.
I've been told that the US one is better, but I'm not fussed as the CAN library will keep me busy for months and months.

For those of you who have Netflix or other streaming services and want to access content that is not available in your region, check out: https://unlocator.com/
It's currently in beta and free (I think they're going to charge when it's out of beta), but it works really well. I just watched all of Stargate on Netflix CA with it

The great thing is that there are a lot of shows that I never got round to watching when they were on TV, and the cost of buying them all on DVD was daunting...Netflix is an elegant answer to that dilemma!
This includes SG1...!!!

I think UK Netflix is catching up (we now have S1-4 of Fringe for example) but there are a button load more still on the US one that we don't get. Also still only 2 seasons of Modern Family...
Edit - Whisperzzzz that site seems like there might be some legal issues arising soon? I can't imagine it staying up for long once the big studios catch on...

Maybe, but all I know is that it's free and it works for now
And the Stargates were fucking awesome! I got a bit bored of SG1 by the end, but I really enjoyed all of Atlantis (minus a few filler episodes).

The problem with Netflix used to be that they didn't have captions - which is really rough for a deaf guy to go through, particularly for the shows with mixed accents.
They seem to have fixed that for the most part, but I'm now running into the problem of "I don't sit down and watch much tv/computer anymore." Goddamnit.

The problem with Netflix is that I will stall for months on end to watch a 2+ hour movie, sometimes it will even expire from Instant, yet I'll sit and watch episodic tv shows for hours on end. Now that I think on it, maybe that's more my problem. But on the other hand, Netflix is definitely indoctrinating me with binge tv propaganda. So I'll say it's about 90/10 their fault.
