I underestimated the Deutsche. They told me July 3. I left on vacation June 27. Guess what they tried to deliver to me that same day?

I got back late last night. Long after the PO was closed. Two notices of attempted delivery in my mail.

I came into work this AM before the PO opened. I called the PO ten minutes ago. They have it. Or so they claim.

And i can't leave work. And do we want to bet i will be here long after the PO has closed for the day...

Kill me. Just kill me.

- Abyss, ARGH.

Longish lunch break....Say you have to get your ______ cleaned at the doctors office then go and get the book...Nobody will say anything and if you can live with the weird looks then you should be good.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Wish me luck, i'm going in!!!!

Everyone in this thread who made deliberately mentioned that they received Toll The Hounds before Abyss. No one else who got it earlier has [linet]gloated[/linet] posted here. Although, Hetan and Mal should really be on the list anyway due to getting to read it so much earlier than everyone else.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Well July 3d came and went with no sign of the book. And since it's an Int'l delivery, you can't even track the pkg!!!! I just hope it comes tomorrow so that I can get some reading in over the wknd. Would've been perfect to get it yesterday, would've had all day today. Oh well, will wait and see ...

the private who picks up mail just brought me

TOLL THE HOUNDS

Good thing for him, because If he would have come back empty handed one more time, he would be doing a push up for every page in the book!!!

Sergeant, a Non-Commisioned Officer.

If I was staying in I would try for Warrant,

Thanks.

I have some fun (or not :D ) trying to align ranks of the Roman army with modern ones for a glossary to my Empire at War series.

The early Imperial Roman army had non commissioned officers (like the signifer, the standard bearer of a century, or the tesserarius, some sort of aide de camp) who got double pay, and immunes, soldiers exempt of some basic duty because of their skills as fe. smith, leather worker, carpenter and whatever else was needed to repair and produce things the army needed.
